This is RAID 1. RAID 1 with a quintuple mirror. This would border on the crazy. Even with spinning rust, a standard RAID 1 (two way mirror) has a failure rate lower than 1/160,000 years. Each additional drive in the mirror takes that up orders of magnitude.

With the first option I was just mentioning an arbitrary, contrived example of another span configuration the controller would let me do in its Raid 10 config wizard in hopes that if there was a flaw in my 2-drives-per-span thinking someone would point it out to me. Everything you've said makes sense, thank you.

Do you have any NICs in the expansion slots? I don't know if you can disable their booting ability, and even if you can, they probably still need to load something at boot time that is separate from the MB BIOS/UEFI.

I think it's just a single Intel 4 jack network daughter card and not in an expansion slot, I'll look into that, thanks.

I do not believe that turning off the virtualization capability of the processor via the BIOS will change the performance of the processor. My understanding of that ability to lock that down is simply that it is a security feature or a control feature, not a performance one.

That's helpful, thanks. I guess I'll leave it on.

FWIW, found the same item from NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883158230

Yep they are basicly the same as our conference computers. You can get them with dual display port not sure if that's standard or not.

@scottalanmiller Management requirement is to have a test and feasible study on exchange inhouse with 50 users. Sure i will parallely build a Zimbra server and provide the same to management for a comparison

I think that that is a good idea. We have used both and always preferred Zimbra. But we use Exchange now because it is hosted with Office 365. If it was not MS hosted, we wouldn't consider it.

Same here. If we had to have Email in house I would probably be running Zimbra.

What kind of authentication is the daloradius / freeradius back-end using?

Can you test the authentication to the freeradius server from another server at Location B?

Not sure how to answer that, daloradius is just a web based front end of freeradius to manage users. What I think is for some reason the ovpn server is not communicating with dalo server.

@scottalanmiller its ubuntu which is my issue too. I am so comfortable with centos, and ufw firewall is something new to me. Not even sure if this thing is enabled or disabled! 🙂

XenServer supports SD Card installs. Not sure about Xen

XS is just a packaging of Xen. So anything XS supports, Xen has to have supported. Xen is completely flexible and can be used anyway that you want, it itself doesn't have the same concept of "supported" like XS does.

I would also like to mention that within IIS there is only one website. It is configured to work with both domains. So in reality onlinebanking.olddomain.org and onlinebanking.newdomain.com are pulled from the same site in IIS. The only difference being that the certificate is now assigned to onlinebanking.newdomain.com.

That won't change your running shell. But now you can use the traditional ulimit command to alter the running shell....

    ulimit -n 2048

    Voila, that worked.

    ulimit -n 2048

  • Using Yammer for project management

We just started using O365 for CRM and Yammer.

CRM is picking up for sales pipelines, sales forecast etc, and slowly moving to do project management, timesheet etc with the PSA module, currently the free one as we are still in the beginning phase on using CRM (http://www.assistancesoftware.com/psa/licenses/)

Final target would be to use CRM as an all in one place for project management, sales forecast, and probably use the service module as a basic ticketing system as well, but a long way to go as it is still new and people are just getting to know the system.

Yammer on the other hand is just for knowledge sharing, more of a corporate facebook alternative, which again we are planning it very carefully as the last time we tried (free Yammer), was just total chaos as people starting posting anything and everything and literally tried replacing FB in the office in the beginning and then totally stopped. New O365 Yammer, we are using mainly for news on whats happening on CRM portal for example, other news in the company, tech news etc.

That button makes perfect sense for non 'Access' connections though. If you make heavy use of the 'Access' session, then yes, it can cause problems.

Change the security permissions so that only certain accounts can click it. That is how I do it.

Windows 10 pro and enterprise will still integrate with WSUS fine, We've already been using for windows 10 updates. You can use WUFB to extend WSUS functionality.
