SQL Management learning
-
I know my way around MS SQL Servers but I need to learn more, not about SQL but advanced management and maintenance. For example we use a lot of the scripts here for maintenance: https://ola.hallengren.com/ Anyway, the company pays for a O'rilley Safari books account and a PluralSight account. What's the best resources on these to use for Microsoft SQL server management? I'd like to start with books or videos on Safari books.

The book hasn't been updated in a few years but I do like the SQL for Dummies 8 in 1 book: http://www.amazon.com/All---One-Dummies-Allen-Taylor/dp/0470929960/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436539023&sr=8-2&keywords=sql+for+dummies

They used to have the MS Press official study books in Safari. If those are still there, those might be a good place to start even if you are not looking to get certified.

I'm a fan of Brent Ozar http://www.brentozar.com/blog/ though my knowledge of SQL Server is very limited. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about but I wouldn't know if he does or not. I haven't paid for any of their training videos, but I've watched a few of the free ones.
