@scottalanmiller , you should check out KiTTY. Built from PuTTY but way nicer!

Elastix has been keeping VERY up to date on Asterisk, just not other packages.

They just rub me the wrong way with the support cycle anymore. Really regretting using Elastix back in March for this last roll out.

There are many, many people int he IT community that vocally believe that open source is simply more secure because it is open source and that is simply not true.

As far as "all things being equal" is possible, I believe that this is true. The problem is is that most people then take that statement and use it to mean that "all" open source code is safer than "all" closed code even of two different projects which is completely senseless and has nothing to do with the situation.

It is if you took the same people and the same project and the same attempt over and over again one open and one closed that the open would win.

When choosing a process, you choose open for security.

That list feels like it is way, way too centered around ERP and CRM systems. Are those really the stand outs in the open source realm? It seems unlikely.

I know it's still useful for Linux, but really - is that enough reason to go forward with this audit?

Perhaps? Perhaps not? If someone's still paying the auditor, I'm sure they'll keep on auditing.

The audit is very important. TC remains a very viable product. Moreso than ever having weathered this storm.
