2 more months and it will be move-in ready

      Building this yourself?

We purchased the plot and found a builder to build on it. I'm not handy at all 😄

Okay got it. I spent many a year making ends meet in both home and commercial construction. Foundation all the way to the roof. Done it all. 🙂

Nice. I've learned a lot through the building process but I'm definitely not there yet. We do have some very nice features in the house like a poured concrete foundation, tankless water heater, manabloc, etc.

This is what the manabloc looks like:

That cable you guys see in the pictures is an ISP wire going to my neighbor. I need to get someone to take care of that.

I mean if you are talking about one server, I would just throw it on the cloud, schedule snapshots, sync file level backups with s3/blob storage and call it a day.

This is true, but it's still virtual. He's asking why would you virtualize just a single server (on premise) if that is all that would be on that host.

The OP is just confusing to me. Why would be want to buy a dedicated server to run one VM?

Sometimes you have to. Canada has a law where when users in your company are accessing data the data has to be contained in Canada. This is specific to our category of business, but it exists. I just priced out a server for this exact reason.

      That's so awful. I'm sorry 😞

I can't even imagine what her family is going through. Her oldest is 7. Her kids are likely only going to know her from second hand accounts. It's so sad. She was a great Mom

I pulled the battery out when I was testing and it did not fix the issue. Also ran HP Diagnostics and it came back with nothing. My boss had a new battery for this model and when I installed it, it fixed the issue. Unsure what the issue with the battery was.

    • Estimating HP Battery Infinitely (Fedora)

I typically don't use a laptop but I've read that gnome-power-manager's estimate is done on time remaining, rather than percentage for battery charge. I just installed Fedora 31 for a gift I'm giving my stepsister and it can't detect the charge. I've read that there have been workarounds for other distros but I haven't seen anything for Fedora. Are there any workarounds you guys are aware of?

Yea, that makes sense. I wasn't sure if it would give an impression that I wasn't interested if I didn't follow up.

Also, after I interviewed with operations managers/etc I immediately interviewed with the HR manager. HR did tell me she's sure that I'm actively applying for other companies and to have patience as it's a long process for their hiring. I'm still going to actively apply at other places though. If I've already been eliminated I would really like to know if there was anything wrong I did so it can help me with future interviews.

You should always remember the names of the people in an interview and e-mail them a thank you after the meeting imo. It's not a check-in but it acknowledges that you remember their names and puts a personal touch to it. Not required, but it's nice.
