      @EddieJennings said in FreePBX and VoIP presentations:

      I'm interested in the process of porting numbers from current T1 provider (local Telco) to a SIP provider. Specifically what kind of time table for porting 50-100 numbers, how you deal with call routing during the porting period, and perhaps any not-obvious gotchas to consider with the porting process.

      Definitely telco dependent.
      I've seen this take as little as 2 days, I've also seen it take as much as 3 months (yes Birch, you guys suck)

      To be clear, Toronto is only 2.5 hours away, so yeah it's in another country, etc., but it's not that far away in reality.

      For us on the West coast, Toronto is in another galaxy..😃

      Was disabled on mine. Just had to choose right button.

      Sorry, it was also disabled on mine.
      2 finger tap (not click) = right click, worked out of the box.

      I have to say, I've been on Korora (only for a few hours) - still finding my way around, but, I'm pleasantly surprised.

      @scottalanmiller said:

      None of this is to suggest that the physical LAN network of an office will go away or that we will not attempt to secure it (firewall, UTM, etc.) It is that we will stop thinking of it as a secure place to dump data willy nilly. And once we treat the LAN as a dangerous place like the Internet, suddenly we are not tied down to it any longer either.

      This was going to be my next question.
      If I understand correctly, the firewall/UTM/"insert fav mode" concept still exists & is valid.
      The old school "on prem" services (AD, File Shares, email) that were heavy on LAN kinda go away

      Why water rather than actual coolant?

      My guess, since coolant can be toxic, this stuff is preferred, 'coz it's mainly distilled water, additives & coloring
