      The Surface Pro line I consider to be exactly like iPads, non upgradeable. The brand new Surface Laptop on the other hand, completely unforgivable in my mind. My super thin Lenovo Yoga Pro has upgradeable SSD and wireless.

      What's weird is that I think MS thinks that total un-upgradeable stuff is somehow cool - a la Apple. psst.

        Maybe in that one way, but polar opposites in quality. Only works for iPad because they are so rock solid. Surface line is as far from that as broadly available gear gets.

              These things, like the iPad stuff, aren't built for serviceability. You buy it with what you want. And if the SSD goes out, you don't replace it. They deal with that. If you need more RAM, then you should have bought one with more RAM, or a different system altogether.

                The issue here (I use both SurfacePro and iPads) that the Surface DOES go bad and quickly. I have an iPad that is now over 4 years old and have no issues with it other than I need to clean apps etc. off of it from time to time cause I filled it up.

                Surface's on the other hand we see as much as a 50% fail rate after one year!

                  At $1,400, I'd buy a decent gaming laptop for anything I wanted to do... That's the price tag on the Surface Laptops around here... And the one I've dealt with came with Windows 10S on it.

                    They all come with Windows 10 S - they also all come with a free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro until at least Nov 2017.

                        Way beyond decent. A good gamer is like $1,000 - $1,100.
