The only place I would put it in my living room would be sort of behind my TV which the lights and stuff would distract I think. First world problems

I just bought a Coolermaster Cosmos 2 for my home media server. It's the biggest case I've ever seen in my life and weighs almost 50 lbs by itself.

Is hardware raid a necessity or something? You can achieve great results for cheap using Linux with ZFS (Software Raid). I know a lot of people have a lot of opinions on software raid but there is very little overhead with modern processors and it's enterprise level software. One of the beautiful aspects of software raid is you don't have to worry about the firmware of the raid controller you purchased when it dies. A lot of the time they stop manufacturing them which is a headache. At the same point I'm sure SAM has a reason for recommending that. I assume this is going to be a raid 10 with 4 drives.

Apparently they're known for sending extortion letters, now that I've had a little bit of time to do some research on them.

I really don't mind getting rid of them or paying a reasonable license fee. What they're asking for isn't what I'd call reasonable, it's just enough that most companies would pay rather than go to court.

I'm also not sure if the Fair Use would cover those under the teaching, scholarship, or research exemptions. Probably going to have to get a lawyer involved.

It's a page that lists different plants that are often used by herbalists, just a list along with the best information about where they originate and such. Even scientific names of all the dull things people find dull and boring. It was difficult to put together because a lot of this sort of information is still locked up in books and hasn't gotten online or in databases yet.

This is one of the reasons that I create all content myself. I have never had to deal with plant availability though and I'm sure that will be/has been an issue for you. I'd say update us but this may take you awhile to resolve if you have to get lawyers involved.

There is so much blame in the IT industry it's crazy. I think a lot of IT Tech just don't want to deal with users anymore and use it as a tool to calm them or something
