Well, my contractor is one of my best friends, he lives next door, and is an absolute MASTER when it comes to custom kitchens and bathrooms. And decks too... I've seen his professional portfolio, and it is quite impressive.

Did your friends get that deck quote for regular, pressure treated lumber or one of the fancy new synthetic decking materials? The latter is CRAZY expensive, but it lasts considerably longer. But all material costs have gone way up, I wouldn't be surprised if 89k was for basic wood construction.

There's two words I never expected to see together.

Initial reaction is eeewww, but I suspect that there's a reason that you're making it.

Ok, maybe salmon jerky might be slightly more accurate. This batch is for my friend's birthday, it is his standing birthday request. Recipe linked below.

Pro tip: use sockeye salmon (preferably wild caught), it has a firmer texture that stands up better in this preparation.

This should work, though I've only used 2012R2 Hyper-V briefly. Definitely works on 2016/2019.

Getting some fiber switch ports installed at the data center. Just a couple of patch cables away from a dedicated fiber x-over to our DR location!

Just poached the projector from the training room, boss needs it for a trade show. Next I will be rebooting our fiber modem since we've been getting about 20% of our upload speed.

Sitting in the Micro Center parking lot, waiting for the store to open. My online order was ready for pickup at 8:30, but they don't open until 10. At least I have caffeine.

They are all semi-contained by the railing around the porch and steps. But I don't fear the sting, these bees are my homeys.

My eldest son just started his first hive, got a starter NUC from another keeper. It was fun to help him get started and look forward to seeing where he takes it. He has boxes for three hives currently, just the one populated.

That is awesome, keep it up! My grandfather had a bunch of hives when I was little. It was always a fun but scary time gathering honey.

Word around the campfire is that nobody really wants to go back. But I heard the owner complaining about working from home, so we're kinda screwed for now.

That sucks.

I'm glad it's just 2 days a week, plus I have a big DR system deployment on my plate. That will have me at the data center on and off, which is preferable.
