CoreOS could threaten Linux potentially. Not completely threatened (especially as it "is" Linux) but it could very much change the face of the Linux ecosystem and reduce the number of traditional deployments.

I agree, Cinnamon would have been the obvious choice. But that other article talks about that city in Germany choosing MATE too. I wonder what the impetus was for that.

I have not seen anything in as high of demand as Linux has been the last several years. Other things get more attention in the news because they are newer, flashier or more interesting to the public, but in the business space it seems that Linux is remaining the big ticket item.

Now we just need to do a search and figure out where it is hiding!

No question that part of being good at that has to be accepting that there are many ways to skin the cat and just because it isn't your preferred approach does not mean that it is wrong. Maybe it is even better. Everyone tends to have certain products and approaches that they will use if not given some reason not to. That might be installing Active Directory or it might be using Cisco routers or maybe installing CCleaner on every desktop. All valid options, but are they the best in every case?

Unitrends is constantly preparing itself for need to do an autosynth, and is working on the dedup and inline hashing and everything else all the time. It's pretty normal for postsgres to be pegged.
