RE: POTS EOL?
@pmoncho @Dashrender We are in the same boat with fax and alarm systems; in addition to having to support legacy PBX systems that can only be managed by dial-up. Several of our POTS have been moved to fiber delivered "voip" and off the carrier's copper plants but we have a few holdout ones that we have to pursue alternatives.

RE: Who do you call for IT assistance
@dashrender Ive answered similar question from a previous manager (wo had no I-T background) by stating the vendor of the software/hardware we are having an issue with is the ultimate "authority", and proceeded to explain hardware and software support contracts and the importance of said contracts. In addition I listed other paid resources available (Experts Exchange subscription at the time).

RE: Best practice MFP scanning to email for M365 shop?
We use Xerox and have a specific account set up in O365 for scan to email. We found option 1from.here was the only one that worked. Stinks that we have to burn a license for it.

RE: Is xByte still recommended for server purchases around here?
this is what we did instead of a dedicated backup server. Nas has worked perfectly and added benefits including o365 backups without a separate license purchase

RE: What do you use as an identity provider?
@Pete-S Old job we used Azuer AD exclusively because we were already in that space; no need for a'Third party" provider. We did review Okta as it integrated with on premise AD, and liked it but why spend extra $$ since we had to get E5 licenses already for other reasons. If you have a lower license teir Okta may make sense as its I think US$6/user/month if I remember correctly.
Haven't started new job yet so I don't know what system they're using. -
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller I still have my 2in1 5.25 AND 3.5 disk drive, no idea if it works though. Also have a USB 3.5" floppy drive that does work

RE: What do you use as an identity provider?
@Pete-S We were in process with that when I left. We still have legacy VPN needs so were demo'ing a Fortinet solution uses Azure SSO that worked well. I had gotten Mimecast email services workign with Azure SSO as well; both using SAML.
