It seems to me that everything will get better, as there are always some deviations for a while. Everything is not forever and everything changes. If you are very worried about the safety of your cryptocurrency, do as I transfer through the redacted to another currency and not lose anything

I'm trying to find a way to configure this via Powershell as there is a "Remote" solution of some sort. So much documentation to dig through. . .

WD MyCloud. I hear they're easy to remote support.

lol - yeah I was reading this as being nothing more than poking fun at WD, and assumed there must be some kind of remote vulnerabilities in them. 😛

Getting the Server+ can help encourage companies to hire you for higher level bench work. Almost no one has it, so it can be a huge differentiator.

      Youtube Video

I hadn't even thought of mentioning that, but it actually came on in the background as I was posting the last post, so very good timing.

The VM can be moved, I wonder if you should sysprep it or not ? I dont think you need that if you will give the VM identical emulated drivers.

Regarding licensing, there are channels for windows licensing (OEM, Retail and Volume Licenses), only OEM channel gets tied to the hardware motherboard, for example ACER laptops with Windows license pre-install, if your Windows 8 is Retail (bought it from online store), and you have license key , you can use it and it will work.

Last I checked (which was a bit ago), you could just use the key (Retail) on the new computer and it would deactivate on the old one.

VL is upgrade only, not a channel for the OS itself. OEM and Retail Box are the only sources of the base license.

So this would only be an option if this is retail box or going back on the same hardware as before.

Is Java at all included in this OS? If so you're boned.

Sure, but not as bad as running Google services and getting targeted ads all the time. If you want to be 100% safe, you have to unplug completely.

In your situation, you may need to ask help from a Broken Android Data Extraction tool. It helps you extract data from a broken screen or dead Android phone.

@scottalanmiller is an account like this spam? It was created to comment on a thread that has already been resolved? It doesn't appear the account is pushing any agenda or anything. It just seems weird to make an account to create one comment then disappear.

I looked at it and couldn't tell. It seemed fishy, especially as it is about Android stuff, always a trigger. But there is no link and no product mentioned. So can't figure out how it could be.

Yeah that was puzzling me as well.

Might be spam, but if it is, it's non-promotional spam. 🙂

It is really an odd type of spam because it doesn't benefit the spammer.

Incorrect. Well moderated communities and communities with good bot prevention like ML end up with this type of spammer.

Generally they post a couple "safe" replies over a small period of time, then they drop their links. suddenly. and if not banned, repeat again in a few weeks.

Not typically bots, but cheap labor paid to simply log in and do so.

Wow! That seems like a lot of work with very little if any reward!

SPAM is big money, and the effort is tiny. Like, approaching zero.

Ya, I just never get around to it.

      For two reasons really.

Some of the projects are purely made for myself, so I just use MySQL and Navicat and do my thing. Or the data is so rarely accessed, people just come to me to find out something.

The project is temporary or purely an archive.

For those project which will be accessed by others, the data either sits in Excel because it's not that much data anyway, or I build out a little web interface using a CMS though it might lack some CUD, at least others can read/browse the data.

The problem with these things is that, when data is needed, it's needed NOW BLAST YOU! But once we're done, it's barely needed and thus not worth the time to build a crud app around it.

And my final excuse, down here around 10%, I just don't care any more. If somebody needs a report, I gather and extract the data and make a pretty report as needed. Too much other stuff happening. For example, creating a DVD video from source footage when the boss took a trip. Yes, I do that, lol

Just thought I'd mention that TurnkeyInternet.net Black Friday deals are about to end. (referrer link)

I haven't been with them long, so I'm not really recommending them yet. My point is that so far things are great, and what you get for the price can't be beat that I've seen anywhere else.

So far my experience with them as been great. The performance has been great, and the support has been great.

My VPS is preforming well. It may be because I got the T80 package (8x vCPU, 8GB RAM 80GB SSD (raid10)). For $20 a month. Runs on RHEL KVM. Had no down time so far.

My parents had some serious flooding. We have pictures from one of their neighbors on a kayak going through the streets. It's really crazy.

Thankfully they only have to gut one room of their house and repair the siding and sheathing ~3 feet up the front of the house.

We are on an island so we were really worried about storm surge. We got some flooding from it, but luckily we are in a high area of the island so our house wasn't affected. I do know quite a few people that were under water. It certainly wasn't as bad as Harvey in my area though.

My parent's house is up just above Daytona. A1A held up this year thankfully so they were able to get to it when the water receded. They had power, oddly, before the storm surge went back out.

So weird that the east coast was affected so much by this storm. We were preparing for the worst when we thought it was going to hit the east coast, but honestly I relaxed a little bit when I saw it was going to make landfall on the west coast. Irma was so strong and her reach was so great that no one was really out of her rage.

This application pretty soon might work on Windows 10 too, it is a matter of time I guess someone will modify it if it is left on the Internet like this.
