I don't get flu shot because I'm scared shitless of needles.

I'm probably being an idiot too, but I swear the only time I get the flu is when I get the flu shot. Most likely it's coincidence... but I still skip them now. I've gotten 2 flu shots in my adult life. First, the year my wife got pregnant with our first kid, and I got the flu that year. Second, when our second kid was born, also got the flu that year. The only 2 times in my adult life that I got it, were when I had the shots. Go figure.

@dafyre funny enough I'm at a speed awareness course this afternoon.

I had to do this when I was wayyyyy younger. It was actually not bad at all. The officer that led the class basically gave us a 2 minutes obligatory lecture about speeding and then the rest of the class he gave us a tour of the cop car and taught us everything about the lasers/radars and how to not get caught again lol

I would take that again any day over paying $250 and bonus insurance rate hikes.

Router Limits appears to just be another DNS tool, and one from Bark. Bark wasn't too impressive on 🌶 if I remember correctly.

Ah lol I didn't even notice the capital letters/realize it was a product name

Connectwise Control has a free 2-system license that you can just sign up for. It's super simple.

I thought they did too, but I couldn't find it earlier

Teamviewer is free for personal use. Not the most popular around here, but I've used it in the past and it used to be solid.

Been pouring some serious hours (as serious as you can get for having a family with 2 young kids anyway lol) into Factorio lately. They have a free demo that includes plenty of content to get hooked.

, a 1500 watt power inverter that runs off a cigarette lighter,

Any device that claims to be a 1500 watt inverter will not provide 1500 watts through a cigarette lighter power port. You could make one, and have a nice vehicle fire to go along with it.

Hopefully the fuse to the cigarette lighter will blow before a fire lol

@FATeknollogee said in VoIP Services and AUTO TOP-UP prepaid billing.:

I have no problem with "top-up".
      I set my "top-up" to replenish at $10, "top-up" charge is $80.
I get an email alert & I get a notification on my phone from my Amex Corp.
I also use Skyetel & Twilio.

Same for us. We set our max to $20 and refill at $10. Get push notifications and emails... It usually takes us about 3 weeks to use $10 lol So it's pretty obvious that something is wrong if we get notifications more than that

We had to get a couple licenses for Enterprise + SA a few years ago and they were $292 each... You'll probably get some kind of discount for 450 licenses, but I don't know how much.

    • RE: Time Clock Software?

I tried both Kimai and Clockify, they are more oriented towards project time tracking. I don't believe that's what @JasGot is looking for, it's certainly not what we're looking for.

Are you looking for something to track how much time each employee works on individual projects or are you looking for something to track how many hours people are clocked in for payroll?

I can see arguments coming that you shouldn't have one without the other... but nonetheless, that isn't what we need.

      His budget is $1000.

If you have a bit of self control and a firm budget you can build something sub $1000 easily.

This is basically my home PC, add a case and go.

Wait till they figure out they have to pay their internal IT to write a timeclock app 😉

Those kinds of companies never see it that way. They consider him spent money, don't matter that other things get behind.

That, and there's always downtime. I could keep our current thing going long enough to poke at something a couple hours a week until it's done.

Use a SaaS of course. As someone recently posted on here, you can restrict IPs of your timeclock SaaS to just your office location(s) so people cannot use it from home.

Do most SaaS timeclocks work from a cell phone? (as in an app)

Would you make them connect to the Office WiFi to punch in if you were going to allow them to use their cellphone?

You can do geofencing so they don't have to be connected to wifi. Most of them have apps, too.

I'm thinking about mounting a couple android tablets to the wall as kiosks for people to clock in and out. I don't think we would allow cell phones, but that's definitely an option if your customer wants that.

I'm also seriously considering writing our own. We use it on premise only, so I don't have to really worry about hardening it all that much. Nothing out there quite works the same as what we've been using for the past 20 years...

I'm currently going through the same thing. www.opentimeclock.com is one that really seems to fit our needs and has a free option that may or may not work out for you.

From my research thus far, SaaS is the only option for something half way decent.

We're currently working with a piece of s*&# that hasn't been updated since 2003 and only runs on Windows XP :man_facepalming:

Do they have anything at all to reuse? Case, power supply, SSD? Because sometimes you can get significantly more powerful components when you can save a few hundred on stuff like that.

Who cares? If they're going to cry about the tokens give them the option to use their phone. But the tokens are what the company supplies...
