XBox 360 and UniFi APs
-
 With in the last month I have gone from one UniFi to two. Tablets, computers and such don't seem to have a problem figuring out which of the two to use for wireless. However it would seem that the XBox can't and fails to connect wirelessly. While I know a simple and quick answer would be to power down one of the APs and connect I'd rather not have to do so, since the resulting problem could be that when I power it back up it freaks out. I would also like to not have to power one down and have it work, because - what's the point in having dual managed APs and it not work as it is suppose to. Any other thoughts? (other than to hard wire it or use a third AP with a different SSID - which I have)

 Did you correctly setup the APs on different channels?

- AP1 is on channel 2

 They are also both on LOW Power

 You can also just use a SSID that is only on the AP that the 360 should be using. You can override the site program on an individual AP level.

 Why on earth are you using something other than 1/6/11?

 Why on earth are you using something other than 1/6/11? I did a Site Scan - and i believe that I had some over lap with one or more of the neighbors. I don't see it this morning but to limit interference would be why

I don't see it this morning but to limit interference would be why Unless you are in an attached condo, apartment, or extremely close urban building design then anything you see on a site survey should not really matter. Wifi simply does not carry that far. Set your AP back to Medium power, and put one on channel 1/6/11 and then the other on one of the other two channels. You should have no issues with anything locally picking up interference.

 Thanks to @JaredBusch and his extensive expertise in the UBNT / UniFi line! Created a new SSID that is hidden, and it will be only available on one AP.

 We are about 50-75' from the neighbors home,.. but the APs are in the middle (ish) of a home that is about 60' across. Offtopic: Is your microSD card full"

 It is a random "broken" phone (Galaxy S3) a user at a client returned for a new phone. I use it for the Wifi analyzer only since I use an iPhone normally and have no access to that on iOS. I have no idea if it has one in it. I never looked. That is probably the no SIM icon.

 @JaredBusch
 Ah very possible - Yea,.. I have a Samsung for the WiFi Analyzer as well. Wished there was on on the iOS but that is more on Apple than developers. Apple doesn't allow access to the network Stack ( last I heard).

One of the reasons I switched to Android 4 phones ago.
