The CompTIA Server+ is in many ways a follow up to the CompTIA A+ but focused on much higher end knowledge and more appropriate for advancing a career. And unlike the A+ which focuses on old information for your local neighborhood repair shop, the Server+ talks about the hardware more often used by IT teams. So even though the Server+ is truly a bench certification, it is one that covers knowledge important enough that IT pros might find it useful even though it is not truly focused on the IT aspects of it.
