Crashplan and Amazon Cloud are two different types of services Crashplan is for backups and archives not for immediate access. Cloud storage would be for immediate access only.

True, true. Sadly, some of us are just broke college employees, lol. I have plenty of local storage at home (3TB in 'server', another 3TB for local Crashplan, and also Crashplan in the cloud)... I'm covered. 8-)

      ?

It me it seems the OS just gets out of the way more and lets me do what I want to do. With Android the OS kinda gets in the way of doing tasks more and doesn't let me just work without having to think about it. If that makes sense.

@scottalanmiller its to clean up the mac junk files on a windows computer. If you copy any folders from a mac to PC or even a zip folder you will have them in it (they are hidden though, but take up space and mess with some programs).

Gotcha, now I see what you are doing here 🙂

Yeah, same. See, it wasn't just me for once.

What app store are you looking in? https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store

The one on the phone. Worst feature of the phone. You search for a common app that you want and you get scores of results of malware, all with the exact name of the product and/or company that you were looking for.

I've never had that happen. and I've had a few different windows phones.

We had a few. But there is only one store. It was very much a "CloudatCost" level of service. Looked good till you actually search for an app then realized you had no assurance of which one was real. It made me appreciate the lock down of the iOS system that someone was vetting the vendors and at least attempting to ensure that products weren't trying to trick you.

Biggest ones were things like the Chrome browser. Search for it and it didn't exist, but hundreds of things called that did.

I'm been saying that Startup Scripts and ADUC Home Folders have been dead for user. Many still insist on doing things this way though. GPP is way more flexible though and actually works better.

What do you replace home folder with?

      GPP Mapped Drives.

I need to finish configuring this... Home drives aren't mapping correctly over our Site-to-site VPN. I am fairly certain this was a known issue which GPP solves.

Yep. They don't get stored locally in any way as they aren't a policy. GPP does cache.

I should also point out that I attempt to do the news posting when there are lulls in the conversation, otherwise, rather than when things are busy. That way if people are looking for something happening they are more likely to find it. I try to use it to even out the traffic flow a tiny bit. Once it a while it prompts conversations at an odd hour.

Or, far better, that ReactOS and other projects like Wine could stop trying to rewrite the Windows code and could focus on replacing the components that Microsoft can't release. Piece by piece they could leverage the MS code to make the whole thing free. Much like the BSD projects did long ago to free UNIX from AT&T.

Well, I think you're just asking for the moon when it comes to a lot of people interested in Windows.

I love Linux but, not as a desktop. It's graphic system well sucks.
Windows 7 was pretty good aside from being resource intensive (do to aero graphic mainly).
Windows 8/8.1 start menu sucked on desktops but there was a lot of good changes especially with windows updates handling.
I'm liking windows 10 so far.

Office 365 Drive Mapping for Enterprise Desktops

Office 365 Drive Mapping for Enterprise Desktops allows users to utilize folder redirection for SharePoint Online, and it is especially helpful for Windows 7 desktops or higher with no local storage being used in the process. With this tool, you can map drives directly to your Office 365 storage options, such as OneDrive for Business, which is based in SharePoint Online.

Oooh, this one is pretty cool. I will have to play with it in the future.

Windows 8 suffered from the "we know what's best for you and we don't care what you want" mentality, otherwise known as hubris. With Windows 10, I feel like MS listened to customer demands - for example, bringing back the start menu button, and shrinking the Windows 8 start screen down to a less annoying, and user-friendly size, cause let's face it, everything popping up full screen is frustrating, especially when it's not what you're used to - and delivered, at least in the tech preview, a snappy, intuitive, just plain nice to use OS.
