      @eddiejennings said in FreePBX and time zones:

      What does the Admin > System Admin > Time Zone setting affect? Should it affect the actual system clock of the server?

      Here's my scenario:

      During FreePBX Install (the OS part), do not set the time zone, which defaults to UTC. After the install, reboot, log into the FreePBX GUI. During the initial setup, you're prompted to confirm a time zone. At this time I specify EST. Reports > Asterisk Logfiles show logs in UTC (which makes sense, since from the OS perspective the time zone is UTC). Envelopes for voice mails are also in UTC.

      There is a setting for this, but I cannot find it right now.

      @JaredBusch dumb question: did you check all services are up and running?

      systemctl status | grep hv │ │ └─10000 grep --color=auto hv ├─hv-kvp-daemon.service │ └─563 /usr/lib/linux-tools/4.8.0-49-generic/hv_kvp_daemon -n ├─hv-vss-daemon.service │ └─577 /usr/lib/linux-tools/4.8.0-49-generic/hv_vss_daemon -n

      on my ubuntu machines the fcopy is always down. don't know why... but I do not need it.
      May be somthing is not running and hyperv badly detects the event

      Start with old Desktop with Virtualization extension, something that you can install OS and dont have to remove cause of free space or you need it for something else.

      Cause learning Linux or Centos or anything else needs environment, and virtualbox can work but it wont allow you play with KVM, and thats for me the big part of the fun.

      Also you need to keep learning that means its is process some day you will leave it 4-5 days dormat cause your stuck in an issue the other day bulb lights up mainly due to reading this site and you get back on it.

      @JaredBusch hi,

      I'm definitely resetting the Http server after every processing, I even started it again. I didn't succeed

      I checked opcache with a small Php script. Opcache works successfully But Nextcloud does not see it.

      So I also realized that if you have even a small number of records, a dictionary will become super long. So you can compact the dictionary like this:

      records: ns1: {forward: 10.1.30.11, type: A, last: 11, rev: 30.1.10.in-addr.arpa.} ansible: {forward: 10.1.30.5, type: A, last: 5, rev: 30.1.10.in-addr.arpa.}

      So while the other way may be easier to read, this saves a TON of space.

      @stacksofplates said in CentOS 7 networking issues:

      NetworkManager still creates the ifcfg files under network-scripts. So those configs will still be there, but should have NM_CONTROLLED=yes

      Also, for some reason CentOS ships with both network and NetworkManager on at the same time. So that's most likely why you saw the DHCP for NetworkManager and the static file that you created. I always disable and mask network to keep people from turning it back on when they aren't paying attention.

      So it looks like they took out the NM_CONTROLLED section. I must have been thinking of RHEL 6. But NM still creates the ifcfg files in the same directory.

      Has anyone ever used SME Sever? http://wiki.contribs.org? Looks similar to NethServer, not as up to date of an interface it appears but I have used it at locations and it works well. It is based on CentOS.

      Actually, NethServer is based off SME Server:
      http://www.nethserver.org/nethserver_smeserver/
      https://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=49865.0

      That's the reason for the similarity.
