That won't change your running shell. But now you can use the traditional ulimit command to alter the running shell....

ulimit -n 2048

Voila, that worked.

Click on the Launchpad. It is right there someplace. That is the "All Applications" icon equiv. the start menu.

Mine is in a subgroup Other that I pushed most things to in order to have a 1 page Launchpad.

Yeah but they used to keep the Pro audio/video folks in mind with the Pro Lines. It looks like they are consumerizing the pro line more to get more volume in sales

No USB Hubs used. I have 13 Ports on my Desktop.

And a Keyboard with Macro keys for doing it.

I rarely have any lockup issues with my MB unless I have recently changed added something that the OS didn't like. If you can disable the AV you will probably be golden. I don't run active AV though I do scan once a week with Clam. I have yet to find anything but BS tracking cookies that I haven't dumped yet.

Try running the built in Encryption and Firewall if you are able.

My MBP is still pretty new so haven't changed anything out. I think I will be adding additional memory though very soon. But when it is time to update the hard drive I will be going SSD.

Another benefit is loaner laptop if you have to leave yours with the Genius.

That's right! I forgot about the loaner benefit. That came in handy for us the other day when I had bring an iMac in for a repair.

Agreed, seems like every district but one around us is increasing taxes like crazy, the one where I live now had to get a vote to increase taxes this year over the usual annual increase...

I use my iPhone a lot when I travel as it is so much of a pain to carry my SLR with me.
