Windows 1803 Known Issues
-
@stuartjordan i had that happen with 1709 also. For me I believe it was a few unresolved updates that was causing it. I have not had that issue yet with 1803 but i have been on top of patching since then.

Updated my management PC to 1803. Now I can't connect properly with Hyper-V Manager.
Do you need to update your RSATools?
I did have to remove the old version and then install the newer one. I believe I used 2016 version.
RSAT is not needed to use Hyper-V Manager.

We found that SAP does not work, even when run over RDP. Something about 1803 alters the behaviour of the app over the RDP connection!
This is what screwed me up, not sure if relevant

No, completely different. I had some threads on that, too. That's not able to connect. This is that the SAP application stops working after connected.

Yeah, that is standard for RSAT, every time. It needs reinstalled after every Windows 10 upgrade so far.
RSAT is not needed to use Hyper-V Manager.
Correct.

I wonder if these issues happening after an upgrade compare to a clean install?
-
@scottalanmiller wow that is disconcerting

Just a bit! Apparently even MS' own Surfaces don't work (not that anyone can tell the difference.)
-
@scottalanmiller Haha funny

Is anyone having the issue where RDP connection drops and picks up about every minute and a half or so?

Well our database admin thinks the 1803 update wiped out a license. I'm not sure if that happened but it is weird. He used Navicat premium which lets him connect to databases this morning. Then he had to go across campus for a bit and let Windows do this big update. When he comes back and wants to connect to a database his application tells him he needs to register for the premium version. He verified that the license is nowhere close to expiring. So weird.

I wonder if the system clock is messed up.

I had to install RSAT for 1803 as I realized I no longer had the various tools to connect to AD.

@black3dynamite Well it was not the system clock. Even after re-entering the license info it continues to lose it. He said he has never had this problem in the 5 years he has been using this software. How would a windows update mess with a program like this?

I can see the update messing up the installation, registry, or permissions. Already tried reinstalling it?

This is an always issue with any upgrade. It has nothing to do with 1803 specifically.

Busy doing more 1803 rollbacks. Feels like this process will never end.

DisplayLink causes BSOD on 1803 (Reported by other IT Pros).
