Strongarm.io hosting the St Louis SpiceCorp

Any one here ever dealt with Strongarm.io?
They are sponsoring the St Louis SpiceCorp meetup tomorrow (April 27th).
Product looks interesting, and I will give is a good trial at a later date as I am too busy with other projects at the moment.

Their website doesn't say much. Agentless? They tell a lot of what they don't do. No obviously explanation of what they do do. Nothing looked exciting enough to make me want to dig into it.

Here's what they say:
Strongarm is most commonly deployed as a forwarding resolver. You simply configure Strongarm as the place you perform DNS lookups. This can be done on your Active Directory server, DHCP server, router, or firewall. (Not sure what any of that means? Don’t worry. We can help you get set up in minutes.) -
I had never heard of them before today, but let me know how it goes. We're always looking for vendors that want to sponsor the DFW group.

Maybe they have some great solutions for that stuff. But if they do, they aren't mentioning it.

Started getting email from Spiceworks yesterday after their latest little issue. Got a survey about a "New, unreleased malware protection." Bet I know what that was about even tho I just looked at the email subject line and moved on.

@travisdh1 issue?

@travisdh1 issue?
The latest "We're having some performance issues" notice. I don't know what the cause was, other than I stopped getting their emails for a few days. Wasn't really put out over it.

I didn't notice. Emails kept working for me.

Right. To me this sounds like a competitor to OpenDNS' Umbrella solution, which is now Cisco Umbrella. That was something like $45/user/year for one of my clients when I quoted it before Cisco bought them.
This is listed at $3/user/month so that matches out at $36/user/year.

wow - not horrible eh? We seem to be getting nickled and dimed to death these days. Are we getting more services? Maybe - do we need them? possibly, but probably not.
A person used to pay roughly $100 per computer for home access to MS Office for the life of the computer, now people pay $60-$100/yr (granted it can cover 1-5 computers).
5 years ago I only had 3-4 subscriptions.. now I have more like 20.

@Dashrender i'm driving again so I'm not gonna full reply, but you're not comparing apples to apples.

I know that - that's why I mentioned the additional services, then then added - do we really need them?
Just like often times bundles don't save us money... They only appear that way because they give us that much more crap that we don't really want or will use.
Example, I wanted Disney XD, but that required buying a whole extra tier, not a single channel of which I will EVER watch... but hey it's a bundle, so much value.. uh NO..
-
From what I see there just a DNS service.

And at the SpiceCorp meetup @todd said that it is $25/user/year. I am assuming that is prepaid for the year.
(I am assuming that @todd is that right person because he just made an account and started following me on here).
