Two would be absolutely the max. But one is better. Figure out how to shrink this. CUT CUT CUT. It's way too conversational about tiny things.

I'm confused now. You're the one who always said 1 page/year...

Exactly... one page per year of professional IT experience. How many years, total, do you have that are IT, not bench? Time at Staples, for example, is important to record but does not justify a resume expansion.

Professional IT from Feb 2012 through about January 2015. Most various MSPs and the like.

Look at the bolded portion that I removed, read that and think about how bad it looks. Unless your goal is sales work, which is fine, you don't want to be talking about selling printers and bluetooth devices when you want a job in IT.

I wouldn't mind a job in Sales in IT....I'd actually be really good at that!

@scottalanmiller that being said, my objective IS IT and not necessarily sales.

Nothing wrong with that, but make two resumes. What looks good for one looks bad for the other.

In one case you want it looking like you were designing systems and fixing bugs all day. In the other you want it looking like you were schmoozing and making sales all day 🙂

So with good compression, I think you can turn this into a solid one pager. Doing that alone should make it seem a lot less like there was a lot of hoping around.

@scottalanmiller , I've made the changes you recommended so far. My other question is about putting those shorter jobs back on...

Are you wondering if you should skip them entirely?

Yes. I'm not talking about some of those short jobs but these are other jobs I had that overlapped with other positions.

Ah yes, if it is a full overlap and does not add specific value - nuke them completely.

I know at least one that doesn't...but some do, such as experience with HIPAA compliance and Cisco experience.

It's a judgement call. Pull out those that definitely don't. Consider carefully those that have something big to offer. 99% of jobs won't care about HIPAA in the least, so chances are that can go or could be added as a quick word elsewhere.

Ok, the other one is the Cisco experience. It's basic stuff but so many companies use it.

HIPPA compliance is required in many (most) places, but it's not specific experience anyone is looking for. Audits and compliance laws change so much it doesn't really matter.

When it doubt, throw it out. Short and to the point. Hiring managers are generally only going to skim your resume.
