I like the train ride. It's chill and easy.

Thanks @NDC. @DustinB3403 already offered his spare bedroom, so I probably get DD duties (I don't drink much.)

@JaredBusch I see that now. I'm not making plans to make any kind of changes with Asterisk's behavior. I was simply geeking out on the questions of why and how. 🙂

So this is what I'm thinking for lunch plans.

From the Hotel to the Geneese Brew House

Alternate route seems better. Out the side door on the 2nd floor and you're already at the bridge.

Still don't know if I can make it or not 😞

I'd recommend the primary route as you get a bit more of a scenic walk, you get to see the falls and you literally can't miss the brew house.

The last step there, "Networks" is still functionally the same, but the GUI has been updated.

ok I'm going to ask, but I know this will cause trouble. What about fax on FreePBX; or should we use cloud services? (he says crouched down behind his desk waiting for the onslaught)

FreePBX has a built in fax module. It can receive faxes no problem - it's sending that I'm not sure it can do.

I am personally curious how many incoming faxes it can handle before it has issues? My office gets around 650 pages of faxes a day, there was a concern around ML that FreePBX might not handle that well.

      FreePBX can handle it fine.

My concern is the trunk that he fax comes in on.

Does anyone know of other events that will be going on in the area (area being a bit broad here, North American might be the "area") around the last two weeks of July and the first week or so of August?

      Besides MangoCon? No.

Looks like my Japan time will now be July.

I will be coming home the day before MangoCon. Incoming jet lagged Jared.

At least you get to go!

Just hop in the car, it's not that long of a drive. 38h tops. I've had so many people lament to me this week that they've never gotten to specifically do that drive. And depending on your route there are loads of Mangoes that you could carpool with.

What folder on the server do you place the config files in for https?

it all goes in the /tftpboot folder. FreePBX handles that in the apache vhost config. port 1443 goes there.

One thing about a VAR is that you don't need anyone really technical to work at a VAR. You just need schmoozy sales guys. The value is all in the sale, not in the tech. It if was, they'd be paying for the tech. So VARs do when when they don't do much IT. VARs focus on minimizing IT costs.

Justy a note, you need to create an OpenCNAM account and fund it if you do not have one.
      https://www.opencnam.com/register

I recommend OpenCNAM because it is generally cheaper than your carrier CID charges.
If you recall from the VoIP.ms setup, they charge $0.008 per lookup.

OpenCNAM is half that at $0.0039 per lookup. https://www.opencnam.com/pricing

Often sales people and management will ask, "How do I check my voicemail from outside?" I always recommend that they enable voicemail to email, but for those that want it, you can set up a silent option in the IVR.

What I mean by silent option is that you will add another option to the IVR, but you will not announce that option in the recorded audio.

Add another entry and choose the Destination category of Feature Code Admin and then select Dial Voicemail <*98>

It should be noted, that when you create a new extension, FreePBX will create user conference rooms automatically if you create a new User Manager user at the same time.
