    • RE: What Are You Using? - Cerntalized Place for Creating, Storing, Accessing and Displaying Network/Systems Documentation

I checked out MediWiki, Alfresco and Sharepoint. Mediawiki looks cool and Alfresco is definitely cool but a bit more than I need. I didn't realize I could create a wiki on a sharepoint site because all I have is Office 365 Pro Plus. Turns out you can, due to the One Drive integration. I also intend to migrate our on-premise Exchange server to Office 365.

For now I am going to try using Sharepoint. If anyone else has suggestions, please post.

      Thanks, everyone.

      Is that a stand-alone product?

I wonder which TM products it was for. I use OfficeScan 11 and don't know of any feature that allows you to import your passwords from a browser.

    • What Are You Using? - Cerntalized Place for Creating, Storing, Accessing and Displaying Network/Systems Documentation

I would like to have an easier method of creating, storing, accessing and displaying my network and systems documentation. Right now it is Visio, Word, Excel and PDFs on a file share.

What are you using for this - Wiki, Sharepoint, etc?

Just finished creating a custom Windows 7 image in VMware and am waiting for the image to finish being captured by my new MDT 2013 server. Crossing fingers everything was done properly the first time...

@Dashrender Definitely make sure that you only select OS versions that you use so that it doesn't eat up unnecessary space and other resources.

Should I create a new thread for this? Got through the installation and when I ran zerotier-cli /controller to verify installation, I got "missing authentication token and authtoken.secret not found (or readable) in /var/lib/zerotier-one". I tried restarting the zerotier service and also a full reboot of the ubuntu server.

EDIT: I did check the contents of the aforementioned directory and did see the authtoken.secret file but not sure what the other would be if it weren't the same thing...

      did you run as sudo?

Son of a ... You got me.

      That was it.

I decided to go with Ubuntu mostly because of @quicky2g posting the screen captures 😉

@johnhooks Would tarring the folder be a sufficient backup for the config?

@dafyre I want to build my own controller. That is the point of the "project" 😛

I have tested the hosted one and like the concept. Since the controller can also run the client, can I set it up as a gateway?

    • RE: ZeroTier Review

@scottalanmiller Well I have worked with CentOS and Ubuntu before but not Suse Leap. Hmm. I might try it out.

And when I say worked with, I mean I have setup things like cacti, nagios, openvpn and some others for testing on various distros and versions. Other than that I don't know nearly enough about linux.

I want something as bare bones as possible, with as little setup as possible to get to the actual task of zerotier installation and config.

I need a distraction from other things I am working on today and I was thinking about trying to stand up a zero tier controller in a VM. Which linux distro should I use?

    • RE: HPE Offers Azure in a Can

@scottalanmiller I think more of the cluster aspect would suggest some sort of HA but I guess clustering doesn't necessarily mean HA; it is also used for pooling resources.

Single chassis aspect scares me about everything.

Me too. UNLESS the goal is not real HA but just, let's say VA.

      What is VA?

    • RE: HPE Offers Azure in a Can

I kind of look at it from the mention of cloud in a can and it being a "four node cluster" dances around the edges of the HA. To SAM's point and counter to the points of HPE, you would need more than one of these and/or combine it with Azure proper to get the HA aspect down.
