The NTG interns really get to do a lot of cool projects. Not many interns can get this kind of experience in high school.

    • RE: Updated to Yosemite

I will be doing this later tonight when I get time. I am interested to see the updates. From what I am reading, there doesn't seem to be anything ground breaking. Though it still looks pretty nice.

    • RE: Apple Certifications

We won't be fixing them unless they are out of warranty. Apple takes their warranty support very seriously. This is so we/I can learn how to support, troubleshoot them on the user side of things. But knowing how to troubleshoot even a warranty covered item will help the client know what they need and able to get the support they need from Apple Care much faster.

I would like to know more about this. Yearly, I have checked this page: and found that both Resellers and Services Provider programs have this: "Apple is not currently accepting reseller or service provider applications. Please check the Apple Channel Programs page periodically for new information."

We aren't expecting to get reseller or even any referrals from them. Just being able to offer this to our current and possible client base.

I have never setup a Media-wiki, I have used them many. This would be a great thing to have in my back pocket. Any resources here to teach that to someone?

    • RE: Apple Certifications

I think that is what my boss hopes.

I have a Macbook pro now in my possession so the learning starts tomorrow with the Yosemite update. I have an iPad and iPhone (provided by my day job) but have only used OSX a little here and there. Now the real learning begins.

    • Apple Certifications

First don't thrash me for all the Apple questions I will be asking. I have worked in IT over 15 years but always in the Windows world. Now I have been tasked by my boss to get some Apple experience. I will be going through the process of getting my OS X certs and then going after my ACMT. That way we can become a fully certified repair shop.

Other than using Apple's certified training, are there any other avenues out there?

    • RE: Help Desk / Ticket software

Having a one stop helpdesk, remote management, patch management and AV makes it an easy choice for most shops. The pricing also makes great sense for smaller shops.
