-We had a requirement to audit our server's local account Administrator privileged users .

We are having around 600-700 windows servers and it is very difficult to verify one by one.

I was in search for a tool and found this tool very useful with graphical summary reports "Viewfinity Local Admin Discovery "

The results provided by the tool categorize the discovered Administrators in three groups according to the following rules:

Default Administrators (like Domain Admins, etc.)
Other AD Groups
AD or local users and any local user groups

Though of sharing the same.

I have configured UrBackup in Centos 7 as per the post Installing URBackup on CentOS 7 :scottalanmiller.
My requirement is to have a Network backup for development Servers data folder.I have created a NFS share in my Synology and mounted to URBackup server. I have configured the URBackup backup storage as nfs mount path.

I need the help on

1. How to install UrBackup client in centos 7
2. How to configure the backup location in centos UrBackup client.
3. I need a backup schedule and retention of

Daily incremental backup and retention 7 days
Weekly full backup and retention 4 weeks
Monthly full backup and retention 3 Months.

how can i achieve the above with file backup settings.

Interval for incremental file backup : ?
interval for full file backup : ?
Maximal incremental file backup : ?
Maximal full file backups : ?

Also any document for upgrading server and client versions.

The Issue has been fixed as the reason for RemoteRegistry access Denied is Our Domain environment GPO is configured the RemoteRegistry service to start as automatic but the security setting of that service is configured with no user which cause all users to access deny.

Configured the GPO is with appropriate permission to the RemoteRegistry service and now all working prefect

It was a miss configuration in Remote Access VPN Group Policy.

I have added local DNS and external DNS (google DNS) in the group policy DNS Server , then Inherit the DNS names in Split Tunneling and disable send all DNS lookups through Tunnel .

Now the nslookup work like charm in any connect vpn

Thanks for your valid comments on exchange ,O365 licensing model.. etc.

My current requirement is to list out the possibilities of question/area that i need to check with rackspace before going for a trail. Also need to know what to test before jump into trail.

We are planing to provide normal rackspace email for casual users and exchange for power users to reduce the email cost.

Need to know anyone is using this feature and how benefit it is ? . Does the exchange share calendar work with rackspace email ? Does the resource mailbox is accessible by rackspace email users ?

These types of possibilities of question am looking forward, if any one such please share so that i can include in my list.

In CloudBerry backup there is an option to do Real-Time backup and this will execute to backup the change in every 60 sec.

This option satisfy my need as it will backup files to aws on real-time and file deleted from local will not get deleted from AWS.

I am looking for a Monitoring solution which can monitor Azure environment(VMs,Storage,Traffic, Load balance,all azure services), application, Network traffic and process level. It also needs to be alert when anything went down or increase in utilization. The main application service and performance to be monitored are Cassandra, RabbitMQ, IIS.

I have evaluated the service DATADOG, New Relic & Dynatrace .Datadog and Newrelic required to do configuration on the agent to get the application metric but Dynatrace is having an auto discovery feature. Datadog Azure plugin is not able to get Linux metric and no offering alert icon on the portal top page for an easy monitoring. New Relic is not having Azure plugin and required customisation on the agent to get required application. Dynatrace seems better but not having the plugin for Cassandra but other two have the feature.

I request you all to advise me a good solution which is having all the features which am looking.

1. Azure Infra monitor (VM's Status, VMs CPU,Memory, Traffic metrics, Disk I/O metrics, Loadbalance traffic..etc)
2. Application Plugin for Cassandra, RabbitMQ, IIS ( need the application performance metrics)
3. Alert on Application, VMs failure..etc and display alert icon on portal top page
4. Need to configure alert for resource utilization and display alert icon when increase in the configured threshold
5. Need to configure service or process level alert.

I have configured Squid Proxy server with Authentication.

Now when I open browser, it will ask for the user name and password. I have set User will require entering username and password every 2 minutes. But the user is always autheticated with the user name and password.

How can I re-authenticate the user or how can Logout the session for that user from Squid proxy server.

This is for development testing purpose, so that they some time need to test by re-authenticating the proxy connection

I am looking for a solution to have a geo location High availability for our Production SQL Database. Currently we have two datacenter A and B with site to site VPN. Datacenter A is having an active/active production SQL Cluster. Our requirement is to have a replication of SQL Database in site A and Site B. Currently we are using SQL standard edition. SQL Alwayson is an option but we need to upgrade the SQL to enterprise edition. Currently evaluating methods are

1. SQL Alwayson
2. Storage replication
3. SQL Mirroring
4. Log Shipping

I am looking for the available methods to achieve Multisite High availability for SQL Server. Any solution is there than SQL Alwayson. Any third party application is there to achieve this?

Requirement is that if our Datacenter A SQL cluster is having issue or maintenance , need to failover to Datacenter B SQL with minimal impact.

I would like to get the suggestion on SQL backup Solution. Currently our environment is have two node SQL cluster with around 16 TB of Data. We are using Rapid Recovery as the Backup solution. We have upgraded our Windows Cluster to 2012 with Clustered Share Volume and the SQL Cluster to 2014.

Now we are facing issue with Rapid Recovery as its not able to understand the clustered share volume and we are not able to take the backup of our SQL storage on Block level. As per Rapid Recovery, they are not sure when they will release a version which support CSV.

We are in a situation to look into another SQL backup Solutions. Currently I am testing the Unitrends backup Virtual appliance and Its is good in backup, but I am having some issues on the retention polices as they provide only minimal policy which is on the SQL instance level.

Kindly suggest me a good backup solution for the SQL database which is having application native backup agent or CSV support , rather than block level backup. Also with the backup policy and retention policy of

Backup : - Daily Incremental and Monthly Full backup
Retention : - 2 Week incremental and Last month Full backup.

Backup : Every 6 Month
Retention : Last 6th Month

Backup : Every Year
Retention : Last 2 year.

If this can be achieved in Unitrends please share the details.

There is a requirement to disable the saving/storing of any files in client workstation(windows 7). We doesn't want the clients to save any type of files in their C & D Drive. It include desktop, my Documents.

If the client can save the files in desktop as temporary and after reboot if it get deleted , then its is very good.

I was planing of enabling a Mandatory profile and Restrict access to drives in my computer through Group Policy.

How can we enable Mandatory profile through Group Policy?

Please suggest me an better idea to implement the same.

As per the valid suggestion from all of you ,I locked down the Desktop and My Documents folders by redirecting those folders (via GPO) to a read only share and restrict the access to C & D Drive(via GPO). Now user can't save anything on desktops,My documents and in any drive, they can save only there works in their own shared drive.

Note : This setting does not prevent users from using programs to access local and network drives. It does not prevent them from using the Disk Management snap-in to view and change drive characteristics.

The reason for restrict the desktop saving is that ,we are sharing a single user account for multiple users in a systems . We are having some client settings which is bonded to the user name and system . We are having shifts for that job and they are doing different jobs. The management wants others not to see the confidential data during one shift.Most of the time the users forgot to delete the data which is against the rule.

Their requirement was users can able to save data in desktop which should be temporary and it need to be deleted after shutdown. Also users are not allowed to save any data in any drive.

Based on the discussion, its is a know fact that we can't achieve this without a third-party software and communicated. They are not willing to have a third-party software as this requirement is only for a limited users. Finally I have tested the folder redirection with read-only access and restrict drive access which partially satisfy their requirement.

I am having a folder permission issue with our QNAP TS-459U Turbo NAS , we have enabled windows ACL in QNAP ,so that the permission for the folders are applied through windows explorer.

Folder structure are
-- Root Folder
------First Sub Folder
---------Second Sub Folder

I have configured full permission to a user for the second sub folder and read only access for Root Folder and First Sub Folder . Please find the image of folder permssion in windows explorer.

The issue is that the user complaint that he doesn't have a write access to the folder. while checking the permission through QNAP web UI ,it is showing read+write access and preview shows Read Only.

Any one face this issue, is this a QNAP bug or we need to do any other configuration.
