    • RE: ATOM: on centos7

@scottalanmiller I was following a training video about Chef. I mistakenly thought the instructor was using centos7, the OS he is using for the course is ubuntu. I provisioned a ubuntu vm and i am off to the races. I am new to containers and he is building containers that are centos7 images. Ignorance can be so painful. Thanks for everyone's patience.

There are currently no term limits on US Senators nor House of Representative either. It hasn't been since 1776. Where is the outrage?

Trust me, in my circles there is plenty of outrage. This is one of the planks in the article 5 convention of states.

@eddiejennings I was afraid of something like this. CenturyLink just bought Level3. They are now our primary. I loved level3. Their customer service was always top notch. I am just waiting for the degradation to start.

Figuring out that attending "virtual events" while you are at work is a bad idea. The interruptions make learning near impossible. Next virtual event I schedule will be from home or the nearest coffee shop.

Discovering and fixing a former employee DNS screw up. The mail filtering service we use has two different MX targets and the priority was set the same for both entries. Turns out a lot of problems occur when you do this.

    • Learning to use PGP over Email

Strange request. Is there anyone out there that uses PGP for email encryption? If so would anyone be willing to take a moment to allow me to test the process out? I would need your email address and public key. I can provide my email via private chat. Please forgive if this a really stupid request, not sure if it is proper etiquette to make this type of request. Im just trying to scrub the noob off.

If it is a dumb way to test it, would anyone have an idea how to test it?

      Thanks.

    • Newb: Looking for advice.

We are a small shop, under 100 users. Our work load does not fluctuate from day to day. We are not expecting load growth above 3% year over year. There is not enough demand on resources to require a on demand emergency reactionary type of architecture. We do not do any kind of application development, most of our enterprise application is off the shelf. Our leadership really wants to get to "the cloud". I am currently reading everything i can get my hands on to understand which way to go. I fully understand and accept that I am a "Buyer" and not an admin or architect. I just need some advice on where to start this journey "To the cloud or Not to the cloud". Thank you for any advice you can give.

My attempts at searching the forum did not bear fruit: I am trying to learn about Linux and don't really care for the standard terminal that comes with Mac. It works fine, I would just hope that someone has come up with a slicker, more powerful substitute. Thank you.

Thank you. I hope I can return the favor.
