Just got a e-mail from ubiquiti about WiFiMan

      https://blog.ubnt.com/2018/12/11/introducing-wifiman/

Downloaded but not tried it yet

Good tool. Mostly a clone of Wifi Analyzer, but newer interface and no adds, so better.

I thought its been out for a while. Maybe I just got the beta.

I used to use inSSIDer before they quit developing it. WIFIMan is definitely a better alternative than inSSIDer.

My kids, that's who. They also can't finish a small bottle of water before they fall asleep, but they have to have one before they go to bed. Do you know how many opened bottles of water I have in my fridge right now? Too many.

Lately, I've been using edX.org. Does anyone else use that? What are your favorite courses?

I've used edx.org before and have learned basic Linux administration from The Linux Foundation and Power BI. I recommend the Linux courses more. Power BI got dry for a minute there.

I'm cheap right now, so anything free is where I am going to for now, work on it myself, get good at it and then begin to invest in myself.

What is it with everyone using 95% of their disk space so the OS can't even upgrade itself?

We must keep all the datas!

Must keep all of the emails, especially that one from 1995 when that one person from that one company said that one thing. We might need that one day.

    • Need to block a User GP for certain Machines

I have a Windows Server 2008R2 Domain & Forest level. Plan is to upgrade the domain this year because of 2008R2 going EOL next year.

I have a GPO called Sleep that applies to Users that locks users screens after a certain period of time. We want this on all of our client machines, but not the ERP servers. The user RDPs into the ERP servers to perform their business tasks. Is there a way of excluding the GPO from applying to the ERP servers?

I suppose they could come up with something like "Amazon Secure" which is a premium over Prime that includes the lock box. But would people pay for it??

How would you secure the lockbox from being carried off?

      Lag bolts.

Into concrete maybe. But if it is attached to a normal house, they'll just cut off whatever it is attached to.

Most package theft is opportunity based though. That's premeditation and a lot of time to cut wood or lag bolts....

The perpetrator would need to know the value of the contents before making such a risky move.

We're forgetting about Amazon Lockers. The giant kiosks that are located at gas stations and such. People go to a locker, scan their phone or receipt, and a door automatically opens. The customer tells Amazon which locker they want to go to based on an arbitrary name that Amazon has setup. Once the item is delivered to the locker, the customer gets a notification to pick it up.

New year, new GitHub: Announcing unlimited free private repos and unified Enterprise offering

Today we’re announcing two major updates to make GitHub more accessible to developers: unlimited free private repositories, and a simpler, unified Enterprise offering. We’re excited about these updates to our Free and Enterprise offerings:

      • GitHub Free now includes unlimited private repositories. For the first time, developers can use GitHub for their private projects with up to three collaborators per repository for free. Many developers want to use private repos to apply for a job, work on a side project, or try something out in private before releasing it publicly. Starting today, those scenarios, and many more, are possible on GitHub at no cost. Public repositories are still free (of course—no changes there) and include unlimited collaborators.

      • GitHub Enterprise is the new unified product for Enterprise Cloud (formerly GitHub Business Cloud) and Enterprise Server (formerly GitHub Enterprise). Organizations that want the flexibility to use GitHub in a cloud or self-hosted configuration can now access both at one per-seat price. And with GitHub Connect, these products can be securely linked, providing a hybrid option so developers can work seamlessly across both environments.

ONe of the best shows ever. It is freaking hilarious.

Humor shows almost never interest me.

      No love for IT Crowd.

Just my personal tastes. I find almost every comedy sitcom unbearable.

On the other hand, I can watch me some fucking sci-fi B movies almost non-stop. It is horrible really. I mean, they are B movies for a reason..

How does BBC's Red Dwarf sit with you? Terrible sitcom or B scifi?

Why is that an "or" when it is clearly an "and".
One of the best shows ever.

I wanted to see which JB valued more, his hatred for sitcoms or his love for b rates scifi.

I've started reading that 3 times now, lol. I get distracted every time.

Yup. Trying to stay focused and finish what I start. Its typical of me to start something and never finish it. Working on fixing that fallacy of myself. Not being much of a reader doesn't help with that either.

Always buy the season pass. You only have to go twice to get your money’s worth.

We don't even go that much. The only reason why we went this time is because the company got complimentary tickets because we host our company picnic there every year.
