@Pete-S That is what the docs say. I have never tried.
But also, why not have everything in the cluster? What is the need to make them "individual" hosts?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. It's free and they host it for you. We've been using it for a few years. It's really quite nice. It's different than Unifi, which I can't explain. But it does a good job.
I've been using UNMS since it came out. They rebranded it to UISP a couple years ago. I had no idea, or forgot, that they had a free hosted version of it.

Unifi only support 4. Anymore, 4 is simply not enough in my opinion, 32 is likely overkill.
Since in the modern world you would never use SSIDs as a security barrier in any meaningful way, basically almost everyone limits SSIDs to two... one for corporate and one for guests. Outside of that, having many seems like a really bad thing as it encourages performance issues and makes management start to ignore security because they think that somehow the SSID is protecting them. Making it rather dangerous.
To me, the magic number is three today. While not a lot of SMB have much in the way of real IoT at the moment, there is a whole slew of shit working its way down to the SMB.
- Corporate/Private LAN
- Public Network
- IoT Network
I can see IoT being its own. I don't have many customers deploying wireless IoT yet, for whatever reason. We do that with a physical LAN for certain stuff, but it has been almost always wired.
One of the colocated portions of the ITEXPO is all about IoT. I attending a few of those presentations when I had nothing else on my list of things I wanted to see. IoT is already huge in a lot of verticals. It will only continue to grow.

@Pete-S huh - I'm sure prices are some higher now.. but $200 for a 24 port switch seems high, not low - but JB will just tell me to shutup and go away now...
The Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch 24 LITE (non-PoE) is $240 MSRP.
I'd definitely prefer this. And it has a remote controller that is hosted for free (see other thread, jaja.)
No, the would be the UniFi Switch line. EdgeSwitch has none of that. Well, maybe it does now that it is called UISP? They could have that hosted for people also. I never looked.

I have nothing against TP-LINK, better than Netgear IMO.
Have not used these models though.
For home use, not being setup like a business, you use the mesh router setups on the market today.
From Ubiquiti, it is the AMPLIFI line
From TP-LINK it is called Deco
Home users should never have business gear setup unless they are a hobbyist or something.

Why wouldn't you do GS APs?
Because they are small market/less used generally, I would not just use them for the hell of it. But if other stock was unavailable, i would look at them.

That is your choice to avoid taxation. Nothing else.
At dinner earlier
The at the house after a walk to 7-11.
Once it was after 7 I went over to Golden Gai as some places there started to open by then.

I ended up at a bar called Kangaroo.
Drank a lot of different Japanese Gin
Also tried this single grain whiskey. But again confirmed that I am not a whiskey guy
Public bathroom right by Golden Gai
I should have taken a wide shot. But the urinals were open to the sidewalk with just a low wall between it and them.

No thanks -
Though I have often wondered how the elders in the Japanese Society did sit.. chair, floor, standing just doesn't matter any more for me.... I just hurt, and to take the levels of pain medication needed would burn my system down like it was a house filled with spiders.oh - that and I really like having dual monitors... I can't really function anymore from just a single monitor or laptop... unless I'm doing only one thing - Using it for the Laser or the Radio..
Get yourself a portable monitor for when you travel. I still love having mine, even with it being an older lower resolution model.
I am on my laptop 2 days in a row ever 2 weeks normally. I have no issues working from it then. Keeping up with small things while in Japan is not really an issue.
