@Minion-Queen has a Surface Pro 2 and likes it a lot. She stopped by yesterday and I got to try it out. It was pretty nice.
Did she get the 4GB or 8GB RAM version? I am wondering if the extra $300 is justified.

Why are you going for that over a traditional ultrabook? I'm still trying to work out which is best.
Yes. Right now I am using a Dell XT2 which I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and put in a SSD. It works out ok, but its just a dated PC. I use it in tablet mode most of the time So I assume that the MS Surface Pro 2 would work even nicer as a tablet.

Sorry guys, I wasnt very clear with my question.
I am looking for a mobile device not a means of VPN connection. I think I finally settled on a Surface Pro 2. Does anyone own one?
P.S. Pertino is awesome
Hmm, I misread that post! Though I am interested in your thoughts on the Pro 2 once you buy it. @Minion-Queen recently purchased one I believe. I am in the market for a new device for my wife. Still debating a Pro2 or iPad Air.
The reviews I have been reading have all been good. I will let you know because I will probably pull the trigger early this week.
An iPad wont work for me. I want to have a full laptop replacement

Is the CDW 3 year total warranty worth the money?
I finally settled on a Surface Pro 2 for my new tablet. Now I just have to decide on the model. I was thinking I would skimp a little on the space (since its expandable and I can use cloud storage) and go with a 3 year total warranty.
Has anyone ever had any issues with CDW's warranty or do they exchange broken/defective devices without any issues?

I like my Lenovo yoga 2 pro.
the only issue is the ultra high res on regular desktop apps is not very conducive up the good work.
Would you buy another one? I am leaning heavily towards the Yoga 2 11S. Is that the same as the pro?

What do you use for offsite locations and VPN use?
Our CIO has approved a purchase of a convertible for me to use offsite and at home. My budget is $600-900. Any recommendations?

I forgot you're a MSP and not an internal guy. So my solution wont work for you.

@IRJ What do you do with a random person on the phone? I do not have internal users with all of these tools installed.
These PCs arent on your network, then?

I use PDQ Inventory for this. I can pull custom reports quickly on whatever KB I am looking for. You can also create a dynamic inventory group, which automatically adds PC into that group after the KB(s) are installed.

I'm definitely about to try that - but why should I need to - of course other than.. because it's MS and well their shit almost never works as advertised? LOL
You shouldn't need to, but I like to do it because it makes organizing and editing policies easier. I have 14 sub OUs under my Computer's OU. I like to split policies up by branch and/or department. I do this because I find that certain departments or branches may need a slight GPO tweak. I hate to apply settings for everyone when only one department or user needs it. I use a unique 4 DIGIT identifier for each department and branch and all my GPO names start with that.

RE: Who speaks other languages?
I've picked up some Spanish just from hearing it depending where I am at in FL. The county next to mine is over 70% Hispanic.

RE: Need a hand with GPP
Why not just make two GPOs and apply the User one to the User OU and the Computer one to the Computer OU? I generally separate them because I use User GPOs for certain things and Computer GPOs for other things.

Enable cookies for 3rd party site via GPO
Our loan department accesses NADA to check current vehicle prices and offer loans accordingly.
The problem we are having is the NADA website defaults to the Northeast region which give a slightly different price than the Southeast region. Our loan personnel are forgetting to set the region causing the car prices to be off a few hundred dollars.
I talked with NADA's IT people and they said if I enable cookies then the region will stick. I dont want to enable cookies for all websites just the NADA site. Is there a way to do this with GPO? Google isnt being too much help
