Pretty pricey for something you have to put on top of another desk.

RE: Zoom in on DOS Apps in Windows 10posted in IT Discussion
I get it to run by using the compatibility troubleshooter and then I was able to get into the options screen to choose full screen, but it triggers the Start menu and crashes when you try to click out of it. Every once in a while I manage to esc out of the Start menu and I can play it that way. It's definitely buggy on Win 10.

I'm curious to see the result of further trials, since this one was only 2 people, and one of them didn't go into remission. It is exciting though, as a new form of treatment, especially in a "last resort" case like this woman.

@scottalanmiller You forgot the part where just after we managed to make it outside, another guy jumped up on the counter waving a gun and said "everybody down." We hauled ass out of there.

Light Windows Laptop Suggestions?posted in IT Discussion
A friend has asked for recommendations on a good laptop with the following requirements:
-not a chromebook
-has storage
-is fast- not bigger than a 14" screen
 - not a Lenovo
 - on the lighter side
 - an internal DVD drive is a plus

Any suggestions, given those parameters?

Handy. When I first read the title, I thought it said "Kitchen Conversations". This makes more sense.

Where is everyone going in FL? I can let you know some of the good the less known beaches
Sanibel Island
I would check out Venice beach (which is just north of Sanibel). It is one of the few places you can find shark teeth by combing the beach. They tell you that the shark teeth that are washed up are ancient, but I can tell you that I have never seen more sharks there than I have anywhere else. I remember being a teenager and fishing on the beach one morning with my dad. We would always go out just before sunrise. We started catching sharks left and right as soon as we got there. As the sun started to rise, We saw sharks everywhere. They were so hungry that they were swimming on the beach and flopping back in when the wave came back. I have never seen anything like it before or ever again in my life.
Sharky's is a cool place to bring the family the food there is pretty good (Captain Eddie's is better). Its on a long pier so you get a nice view of the water and the beaches. I recommend Captain Eddie's if you really like seafood. I love that place.
http://sharkysonthepier.com/It would be cool to check out a place with shark's teeth, but since we are staying at a house on the ocean in Sanibel, there's no way we'll drive 1.5 hours to another beach. My family turns into bums as soon as they smell salt water.

Windows 10 boot errors with new PCposted in IT Discussion
My sister bought a new PC, and the first time she turned it on she got boot errors. It didn't come with a recovery disk. It just keeps cycling between the screens below. She is not computer savvy so this is going to be a somewhat challenging fix from afar.

We are currently working on having a friend of her daughter make a recovery drive and a system repair disk so she has both options.

Scientists use the metric system, probably because the math is so much easier.

They are living between NY and TX now that they are retired, and also traveling extensively, so that's why it needs to be a laptop.

RE: Game: The Shipposted in Water Closet
Sounds like a cool game. We are going to have to play against each other when we have time. Does the multiplayer allow bots so that 2 people can play against each other without it being so obvious who the other player is?

@scottalanmiller appears to have just got it working in like 2 seconds. Not sure what he did, perhaps he will enlighten us.
