The question is... to the trunk provider, does it look like you are testing with two different devices, or only one.

Can you show the same settings that worked on X-Lite?

Do you have the SIP setup instructions from the trunk provider?

I don't see the alternative port specified on the working config, only on the one that doesn't work.

@scottalanmiller They don't use Free PBX server, they use PBX Teles and they provided me the SIP account, not the way of setting TRUNK. The attachment of X-Lite setting that was from their end and I followed, it worked

I thought that the proxy WAS the soft switch. Maybe we need more details on the architecture.

Well, who has the soft switch and who has the proxy, for example. Is one or both or neither of these on your network?

@scottalanmiller They are Telco company and they provide me the SIP account even the proxy. I am the party that is owning FreePBX server (soft switch) and use their SIP account from them. This is a direct route connection.

Okay. Let's only call FreePBX, FreePBX or the PBX. It is a soft switch but calling it that at random makes it sound like you have another soft switch in front of your PBX. That makes things way clearer. no one calls FreePBX their soft switch, even if that is the technology under the hood, because its role is as your PBX, not a generic switch.

Why is there a proxy at the telco side that you need to know about? Shouldn't you just connect directly to their proxy as if that is all that their is and they take care of the rest? If they need you to manage setting up their proxy, something seems wrong.

Just to explain why calling it a soft switch is confusing...

                                  • You PBX is a soft switch
                                  • The telco's proxy is a soft switch
                                  • The telco's telephony backplane is a soft switch
                                  • Your soft phone might be a soft switch
                                  • If you had your own proxy, it would be a soft switch

Just in this conversation alone, the term soft switch could refer to five different pieces of equipment. But PBX refers to only one.

@Jimmy_K. What they provided me here is

                                      The number: 123456789

                                      [email protected]

                                      Proxy server IP: 11.22.33.44
                                      Port: 5061
                                      Password: xxxxxxx

5061 is a different port number than before.

@scottalanmiller . Because of security reason, hence they do provide a different port as 50xx and my freePBX has port 5060

Changing ports is never for security. That's "security through obscurity" which is the opposite of security. If anything, that should concern you that they don't understand how security works.

But my point was that they provided one port but you were trying to use a different one.
