Xerox to Split into two companies - layoffs expected

Announced only this morning the company is planning to split into two companies to save an estimated 2.4 billion over 3 years. (the saving is from local news reporters, not the article)

I grew up within site of Xerox HQ back when Xerox Tower in Rochester was their home. Then recently I worked in their new headquarters, Xerox Tower in Connecticut, completely by coincidence. Since they left NY, who cares what they do
They don't really make anything that matters anymore, do they? -

That is bad... My brother-in-law works for them as does his mother (though she is supposed to retire in 2 years).
