$199 is not bad, but I wonder about that $99/year service. Will it stop working if I decide not to pay?

I've never heard of it until now. Interesting product.

Very interesting except the subscription... but I guess that's the way everything is now.

$99/year is a lot. Considering most home equipment is less than $99 total, that per year on top of a purchase price is steep.

And on top of that subscription "only" 100Mbit bandwidth.

That doesn't even go fast enough for Panama cable!!

Well that prices it out of home user use. 😞

$199 is a bit bad compared to $50 or so for a common alternative. 400% is a lot for a home user to swallow.

Agreed... I could see this being a $100 box one time fee, and $50/yr for the service... It would still be a hard sell, especially if they don't need to forgo antivirus on the computers inside the network...

I cannot imagine someone buying a $200 "box" for security. When a $99/year subscription is tossed in there as well it goes from "maybe some people will buy this" to "maybe one person will buy this".

Should have made it with a 5 port 10gbit router + sexy wifi integrated to get rid of insecure access issues while they were at it

The 5 port switch would have been a great add... I can take or leave the WAP.

Ditto, but I'm picturing the work from home stock broker on a bedazzled ipad grunting and poking at the screen

Yeah an AIO device would be probably the best.
