I would love to give credit to whoever first told me about it, but it was a coupe of years ago and I do not recall who it was. I swear by this app though. It makes things so easy.

I have to agree. I forget who showed me this but it's ridiculously handy, and the fact it gives you the X and Y axis lines on the screen for convenience is amazing! Always one of my first installs on any computer.

I was going to say Chocolately wasn't updated.

Oh wait, already did - whoops! my bad.

I guess this is one of my older installs where I manually install GreenShot.

        Fixing that now.

Just checked and I have been on 1.2.8.14 for a while according to my chocolatey logs.

        2016-11-13 13:18:55,005 [DEBUG] - Running Get-WebHeaders -url 'https://github.com/greenshot/greenshot/releases/download/Greenshot-RELEASE-1.2.8.14/Greenshot-INSTALLER-1.2.8.14-RELEASE.exe' -ErrorAction 'Stop' Line 10002:

so you got it Nov 13, and it was released Nov 3. not bad...

And that was just because that is when Chocolatey ran I do not have that in a scheduled task on my workstation. need to set that up...

@dafyre showed me ShareX like that tool quite a bit didn't have the lag and unreliability issues I was having with Greenshot when I switched over.

that's funny, Paul Thurrott just posted about ShareX a few days ago.

I've used them both enough that I feel at home with Either. I'm primarily using ShareX these days.

It's a neat app but I didn't like all the menu things it inserted everywhere. I went back to snipping tool.

I do not make screen caps very often

The minute you need to annotate beyond highlighting the snipping tool is out. It's a nice tool but doesn't hold a candle to Greenshot or ShareX.

Here's the one I've been using (before I found out about ShareX today - I'm gonna check that one out as soon as I have time)
