Double Fisting at Touche
-
Here I am at Touche on 6th Street in Austin, Texas at SpiceWorld 2015 at the Scott Alan Miller Afterparty on Thursday evening double fisting it. One drink is a "surprise me" that I have no idea what was in it and the other is just a giant glass of gin from @Rob

I have realized I do NOT like gin...

Same thing that @rob and @Minion-Queen realized which resulted in me getting all of their gin.
-
Yeah it was gross. Was supposed to be a Martini but they didn't have everything to make one... yuck!
-
A good martini has so little vermouth that you can barely tell the difference anyway. A glass of gin is what a martini tastes like.
-
The couple times I have had a Martini I have girly ones Appletini's are awesome

Not a dirty, vodka martini.... shaken, not shtirred....

Yeah, not related to actual martinis. Girly ones are flavoured Vodkatinis. Martinis by definition are gin. People call vodkatinis that because they think that they are drinking from a martini glass. But correctly that is just a cocktail glass.

All the gin belong to @scottalanmiller

Yea... that was one terrible tasting drink.

@Rob was handing out Fireball shots and handed me instead a double shot of Johnny Walker Black - that was completely unexpected shot, quickly followed by a shot of the real deal - fireball.

@Rob gave it to me because he knows that I order that normally. One of my standard drinks of choice is an arid martini which means a glass of gin with so little vermouth that it is less than 1/16th and is generally handled via a splash, swish and toss method.

Martinis are very dependent on the gin, for obvious reasons, and should never have ice. Cheap gin and lots of ice made that one far less good than it should have been. Martinis are chilled but not iced and everything comes down to a good gin choice. New Amsterdam is what I drink.

That 12oz. of gin had a little splash of surprise flavor, err... backwashed flavor, too. Nothing to fear; the alcohol kills the bacteria.

I just realized the title of this post may be taken the wrong way for someone who wasn't there. LOL!

I was thinking something very similar but I wasn't sure about the wording, so I just left it.
