      Canonical, the makers of Ubuntu, claim that their LXD container technology provides a crushing performance improvement over KVM virtualization. Performance improvement claims include 57% drop in latency, 1,450% greater density (that is 14.5 containers per VM!!)

      Of course, important caveats include that KVM rarely keeps up with Xen PV in this type of scenario but is comparable. So Xen PV might have fared slightly better. And workloads were of a similar type. And, of course, all workloads had to be Linux.
