Has anyone updated their Android device to KitKat yet?
If so, what are your thoughts?

i have a droid razr maxx hd from verizon and i am still waiting for kk to be available, once it is yes i will download it. JB is very buggy on the razr maxx which makes me sad because i love the battery life on the phone itself.

I updated my Galaxy Note 3 this morning - as far as I can tell, the only real UI difference is the keyboard has been changed some.
          Please post your observations here.

How does your unit compare to other Motorola droid devices? I know folks that HATED their droids in the earlier models, though they seem to be improving.

Yes, and BT still sucks on tablets. Phones it's OK in my experience.

There are some hidden features. You should be able to take screenshots holding down volume and power now (I couldn't do that without another app on my previous build). You should also be able to record your screen to an MP4 as well. My battery life also has been better and it is even faster on my 2013 Nexus 7.

@Katie I love my droid (for the most part) the build quality is excellent. The issues only come into play (lose of bluetooth and speakerphone) after i dropped the phone a few dozen times. The sound quality is superior (imo) to that of samsung. My wife had the original Galaxy S and when i was talking to her on the phone it sounded like she was in a tin can. As far as the OS is concerned, once Moto decided to move away from the Moto Blur that is when things started to improve. The moto blur look was very buggy and my phone constantly froze, but now it only freezes every once in awhile and i blame verizon for that. Their crapware on the phone is horrible and quite intrusive.

@katie Using 4.4.2 on a Nexus 7 2013. No issues, nor seeing anything special.

4.3 might've have stability issues. Those are always hard to pin down. Being a new solo device at the time, hard to better qualify a solid opinion.

Might be helpful, if haven't seen it yet—

Main reason for buying my Google Nexus 7 was for getting os updates right away. enjoying it, though i could nto compare older OSes.

I had one but it died. Not a very useful device 😞

I updated a few weeks ago. So far I love it. Been fairly solid on my Samsung Galaxy S III

OK updated my Galaxy S4 last night. Most noticed change - fonts, they are just a 'bit' different.

I'm wondering, I was having some performance issues before the update which have been making me want to hard reset and start over. I wonder if things will be better now and not require the reset?

Yes, the UI changes I have observed have been pretty subtle. Seems a little smoother in transitioning between apps and things.

can you be subtle yet extremely noticeable? To me it just gives me an irry feeling, like something is just not quite right, but you can't put your finger on it... it's not bad, but after looking at the same settings for 9 months and to have these changes just feel awkward for a few days.

Been running it fine on droid maxx for quite awhile

Battery just about the same or better than jellybean. They say it's supposed to be better, I say about the same...

Only buy maxx devices for users now and only for battery life... Tired of complaints.

Have you tried a Note 3? The battery life of a normal user can last nearly 2 days.
