You could always call AT&T and ask them why there connection doesn't work well when you illegally download torrents. Also could ask them why sharing connections between two people isn't working well. They'll be glad to set you up with another account or even a businesses connection. Heck since its FiOS they probably have a way of doing two connections over a single fiber drop .

You can't expect something to work properly when you are using it in many was outside of the TOS and you don't legally have access to the router either.

Let's assume for a moment that it was the apt manager who was having these problems... what TOS is he breaking? Torrents themselves are not illegal, they can be used for illegal things sure.. so can Cash... should cash be outlawed (yeah I know some in the government think it should be)?
and are you saying he doesn't have legal right to use the internet because he's a sub-tenant of the one who's paying for the service?
I'm guessing that internet access is part of his lease agreement, and as such is the responsibility of the landlord to solve any fees that should be paid for having sub-tenants on the internet connection.
Unless I've missed a post somewhere here where AJ says he's stealing access from his landlord. -

You laugh, but I've actually had this call once. Dumb shit kid was complaining that his downloads were slow. Went through our favorite subcontinent for not understanding shit and got to me at level 3 because I was taking calls as a level 2 guy. The first question I asked was "Where are you downloading from?" "BitTorrent" was his reply. After properly chastising the T1 agent for his inability to ask even the most basic of questions, I promptly educated the customer on the inconsistent nature of distributed downloads.

Unless I've missed a post somewhere here where AJ says he's stealing access from his landlord.There isn't even a formal lease. I guess you would consider it all under the table at this point. He's just a guy helping a friend.
And no, I'm not stealing access. I was given permission to use his network. Using two networks itself is not illegal, or even breaking the TOS of Verizon. If he uses Verizon's router and it's network and had a separate router and network, that doesn't break any TOS. The main reason I do it is because the wireless signal doesn't reach to my part of the house. Not a big house, but lots of plaster, etc.

What I'm thinking. Verizon claims their routers are good but they suck. I had similar issues before I dropped their router completely when I was in Texas.

Thank you. Torrenting itself isn't illegal. A large number of Linux distros are distributed this way.

We've been over this before accessing the router that you don't have permission to access is illegal. Sharing the connection is against the TOS.
And while some torrenting is legal. Most of it's use is not. almost all linux distro provide http downloads that are much faster than the torrent downloads.

Wrong. Torrent downloads are infinitely faster.
Also, I DO have permission to access it. Also, how is it against TOS? He's not making me pay to use it. I pay to live there and I share his internet. I share his bandwidth. @PSX_Defector could comment on this more, but you're again getting off the topic of the OP.
