This morning I attempted to play The Sims 3 via Steam, and discovered that I don't have .net framework 3.5. When I tried to install it, I just got errors that I couldn't download it, possibly because I didn't have an internet connection. I then tried to connect to Windows Update, and couldn't connect to that either, so then I asked Scott if Intune could be blocking me from installing Windows components, at which point he mentioned that Intune disables Windows Update. I thought Intune was installed and working on my Lenovo Yoga2Pro with Windows 10, but I discovered this morning that it's not actually working. I'm attempting to retire my machine from Intune and start from scratch, so that is in progress. This computer has never actually talked to Intune, but Intune shows as running in the system tray. When I look at installed programs, Intune isn't listed, so I don't know how to get rid of it. I don't know that it will matter that I've retired this machine from the Intune console, since I don't even see it as installed. Anybody successfully retire a machine and uninstall Intune?

You had asked me for this and to make it easy for anyone who needs it, the Windows 10 Enterprise Preview universal activation key is PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK.

Install Revo. It will see stuff that doesn't show up in Programs and Features.

Microsoft has a tool for removing InTune.

Is it as effective as some of the other tools put out by a couple of companies starting with S and another with M? If so, she might be in trouble...

Microsoft application removal tools traditionally work really well. They are custom built to remove the specific application.

I do agree that the MS ones I've used before have worked pretty well. That isn't a hard and fast rule though among software vendors.

Well, it looks like Windows 10 is just incompatible with Intune right now, so I'm going to uninstall it again.

I wonder if Microsoft is aware of this yet.

                          Likely, but who knows.

Hopefully they have some telemetry in both InTune and Windows 10 to tell them that this is happening.

That's the idea with the Tech Preview, at least.
