Anywhere that already has a Yelaink DECT base for a cordless handset can jsut buy the dongle and jack it into a 41/42 S series.

But the phone would still require power from somewhere. I would assume 110v power, unless I'm missing something. Brain hurts.

                Disregard my previous comment.

Haven't read the specs in detail, but normally the Yealink DECT base can do 4 units paired to it.

Of course it would. But power is normally much easier to get than network in many places outside of a desk environment.

                      Common scenario in my mind.

Wall mounted phones in a shop. One DECT base and 4 phones. no need to run network drops all over.

Does the cordless and the deskphone both share the same extension? If so, this would be great for my wandering receptionist.

These are independent units so no. But you can put the same ext on them if the PBX supports it.

So with FreePBX and PJSIP based extensions you can have multiple devices registered all to the same ext.
