What's the best DVD ripper right now?

I've been using MakeMKV for quite some time and it's pretty straightforward. Definitely recommend.

Maybe you should make an ISO if they're not encrypted or protected? This will certainly keep the titles and menus intact.

DVD Fab seems fine but using the trial put watermarks all over my vids, and of course I can't seem to buy it either so it's a bust. Pretty expensive too.
MakeMKV I don't believe leaves original menus and chapters and such intact unless I read the site wrong? Doesn't it just rip out the main video title only?
I was just testing a cheaper free/pro one called WinX DVD Copy Pro that seems to be recommended by various tech mags. https://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-copy-pro/
The titles I need probably don't even have any encryption or anything. In fact one of them I simply browsed the DVD and directly copied out the TS folders. Seemed to work just fine doing that so I don't know.

That was my thought... DVD spec hasn't changed in a long time, so if an older program works with your OS, why not use that?

Not the DVD spec per se, but certainly DRM/encryption/scrambling/limiting techniques are always changing. Software has to stay up to date with cracking all the latest protections if you want to back up titles. Especially newer Blu-ray stuff. Can DVD Shrink even open a Blu-ray? I doubt it. -

I've used DVDshrink and Handbrake in the past. Careful with DVDshrink since its not developed or maintained anymore a lot of people are binding it with malware.
