@coliver Are people still actively using IE? Even on servers if I required a web browser I would never use IE.

Some of our clients require that we use IE to access their billing system where we submit our invoices to them.

Ubuntu 17.10 is right around the corner. The new Gnome desktop is the big deal, of course.

A step in the right direction for Microsoft... Although let's not forget the whole Microsoft Store debacle that still haunts Windows 10.

Websites like U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs still requires Internet Explorer 11.

For 70 bucks, I think this might be coming to my house soon.

It's tempting, but I still like the idea of avoiding all streaming media that is uncontrolled. I hate the "just watch whatever is on" concept.

@scottalanmiller I'll just be using it for Netflix/HBO/Kodi mostly. I've got a long list of stuff to watch.

You've lost me - how does the Amazon Fire TV give you uncontrolled media?

That goes to the TV, not the Amazon Fire. At least that was the way I read the listing.

originally I thought - hey cool, they installed a tuner into the Amazon fire - uh, nope.

So in this case, you just skip buying the OTA antenna.

From what I can tell, the main "thing" here is the fact that it's a dongle, and not a larger box that sits on a shelf.

For 70 bucks, I think this might be coming to my house soon.

It's tempting, but I still like the idea of avoiding all streaming media that is uncontrolled. I hate the "just watch whatever is on" concept.

You've lost me - how does the Amazon Fire TV give you uncontrolled media?

From the over the air antenna.

So in this case, you just skip buying the OTA antenna.

That was my plan. Or leave the antenna disconnected if they all include it.
