      Unifi LED - Dimmer Switch
      https://unifi-led.ubnt.com/

This seems like a silly product to me... People are seriously going to buy a bunch of high power PoE switches to power lights?
The biggest Unifi Switch is 750w, you could power 30 of these lights with that, and nothing else.

Maybe best in conference rooms but couldn't see it being useful everywhere, unless you just really want to simplify wiring and reduce your electrical bills.

Sure, this is for industrial lighting. Not that expensive for that purpose.

I've seen companies purchase PoE switches for lighting before. Everything was network controlled, color, temperature, etc. It was actually really cool. They had 48 on one switch with an uplink though. The best part was that since it was low-volt they didn't need a certified electrician and their contractor put them all in... saved them a boat load of money.

Right, the potential changes in union labour alone can justify the whole thing.

Yeah. I just got back to the office and saw an email from them announcing this. In my part of the country, this just doesn't make sense. Electric is cheap, and labor to pull cables is about the same as an electrician. Places like NYC where you need union and certified people to run electric lines, but not low-power lines like network cables.

Wow, that's dumb, an unencrypted EXT4 file system for Linux is supported. I always encrypt my laptop and desktop. I'm more of a Google Drive and Nextcloud user anyway.

There are some good features with 4.18. But right now I'm more interested in the KVM Microsoft Hyper-V improvements.

I have a movie pass, got in on some deal and got a year of it for like $90.00, already have seen like 15 movies on it so I am ahead even if they go bust. They keep changing the terms of service which is frustrating. It used to be, any movie, any showtime, only once. Now it is only certain movies and certain showtimes. So for me, it is now useless because none of the showtimes ever match up with when I want to see a movie. Which is usually the early showings on Saturday like 11 am to 1 pm. I didn't think it would last but I thought at $90.00 I would most likely be ahead of it before it went bust. A gamble, but it did pay off.

@momurda just out of curiosity sake do you think that blockchain will have a place in the financial industry, just not as cryptocurrency as it is now, or is it just all garbage?

@momurda The thing about it is this, who is going to be first to sign up for Moviepass? The people that like to see a lot of movies, which causes them to burn through their money. I saw a news release that had that they needed to reach 5 Million subscribers to be profitable. I guess the math works out that way. I won't resubscribe though.

My father in law uses it and goes to SO many movies. They definitely lost money on him.
