      Has anyone used the Telegram desktop client on Korora 25 Cinnamon?

      I downloaded it
      0_1492962599343_upload-3e8811fe-4e7b-492e-a15e-813399b77ed2
      Extracted the archive
      0_1492962607522_upload-3ab28217-a656-4972-86d6-1ee20d94d090
      And I can execute it and use it. But it did not automatically setup a launcher link. Other have reported that it did so on Fedora with Gnome 3 and KDE as well as Ubuntu.

        Just symlink it in one of your PATH folder.

          I eneded up making a Telegram.desktop file.

          Really I was mostly annoyed that it does it natively on Fedora 25, but not here.

            Moved Telegram folder to /opt and then edited (created) /usr/share/applications/Telegram.desktop

            [Desktop Entry]
            Encoding=UTF-8
            Name=Telegram
            Exec=/opt/Telegram/Telegram
            Icon=/opt/Telegram/telegram128.png
            Type=Application
            Categories=Network;

            I had to go download telegram128.png separately. Also annoying.
            Google gave me this site to get it. http://deshack.net/install-telegram-for-linux-as-an-application/

            right click and save if you want it yourself.
