post office 365 subscription

Hi Gurus,
I'm leaving my current company and my company office 365 subscription will be gone. I have xls/doc 2016 personal files and also outlook 2016 pst backup.
What is my best option to access my 2016 doc/xls/pst files while i dont have office 365 subscription?
Is there a free option or I need to pay a personal office 365 subscription to access my files? or what is my cheapest alternative if no free option?

If they are your files, and you don't want to pay for a subscription to Office365, you'll need to download a copy of the records to their respective document format.
You can then open the documents in LibreOffice (which doesn't cost you anything).

I'm not familiar with this scenario, but off the top of my head, I would verify with the company you work for to see if you would be able to export / backup your O365 account to a PST file for your mail, and backup the rest of your stuff on other services.
Then I would purchase a personal yearly subscription. I think i'm paying $99 per year, which allows for up to 5x 1tb storage accounts, the office suite, and skype time... among some other percs.
I'm not sure what you require, perhaps the personal subscription won't be enough for your needs, and you'll need to look in a business license or something.

Office365 for a personal account is also pretty cheap. As little as $70/year.

Yeah 70 a year would get you the entire suite.
Now will your employer let you take the email with you...

I think he is using one of the five personal installs of Office that are available to subscribers. Probably coupled with an outlook.com account.

Are these your files and your PST? or are these the property of your company that you are leaving? Taking them with you without consent of your employer can be considered theft.
I know you said personal files, but just verifying.

Your files will be cut off from you the moment that you leave the company. If they are stored on their Office 365, you will have no access to them. You can't get a personal account and move them. You have to make a backup of them on your own. Then, if you want, you can get an Office 365 personal account and upload them again. But getting an account will not move them over for you.
