Does anyone know the name of a wordpress theme where the whole page is a slideshow of images with information on them?

You can make a page like that using a slider plugin like revolution slider. All you need to do is create a blank page and add the shortcode of the slider(s) on the page.

@IRJ Okay thanks! I will look into that. It seems like such a simple thing to do, but I'm having trouble finding a template that does what I'm looking for.

This probably wont be something you would find built into a template. You can make columns for the sliders and do 3-4 small ones in a row if you wanted. You can also add additional sliders as you go down the page if you wanted.

@Dominica I usually use either avada or divi, you can build and customize pretty much anything with either of the themes.

Yep, visual composer is the piece that makes pages very easy to build and customize. Most major themes have that and revolution slider included with theme.

Divi and avada use their own page builders they don't use visual composer, but yes lots of other themes do.

Page Builder by Site Origin is another simple and free page builder.

What I really want is for the whole page to be a slider, not just a slider inserted into the page. In other words, I want a full width image that slides to several images.

You should be able to just set the page style to a landing page. That will achieve what you are looking to do.

You can design the slider anyway you want. You can breaks in the slider itself and it will appear seemless. It also supports different links in different areas of the same slider.

Sliders are the spawn of evil. Why do you need sliders? They increase load time, and really glitchy.

Managing the one the devs put on our website is nothing but a pain. Looks nice tho, and keeping all the graphics slider images super super tiny doesn't hit load times to badly. At least it hasn't yet knock on wood
