      Hi guys,
i need to choose between Santa Clara, CA and Los Angeles, CA for our West Coast colo.

      http://www.coresite.com/data-centers/locations/los-angeles/la2 (hot aisle containment)
      http://www.coresite.com/data-centers/locations/silicon-valley/sv4 (cold aisle containment)

Maybe someone recently had to make a similar decision, it would be interesting to know why they chose one over another.
      Pricing is identical.
I'm based in the East Coast, but i'll visit the West Coast data center once in a while, so things like transportation to/from the data center, hotel, etc. should be taken into consideration as well.

      Thanks!

We use Colocation America in Los Angeles. They've been awesome.

        @colocationamerica

I think that generally LA has better backbone infrastructure than SV/SF, but that's just from personal observation working out there.

@Kris_K I just recently made that choice in LA
          I went with https://www.inforelay.com/
The DC is located at http://www.coresite.com/data-centers/locations/los-angeles/la2
LA2 is slightly more expensive than the DCs in downtown LA (LA2 is not in the heart of DTLA)
At LA2, there is free gated parking, there is also a separate gated loading dock with carts & service elevator right next to the dock.
Less hassle & headache to get in & out

            Hey Kris,

As @scottalanmiller said, we currently sponsor the NTG Lab in our new downtown LA DC and as he and the rest of the team can attest, speeds are very quick from East Coast to the facility. We have a ton of options from 1U to Full racks, all with customizable options with OS, storage, RAM, etc.

Also we have coupons! You can use the MangoLassi exclusive coupon MangoCon50 to get 50% off your first month so that's cool too.

If you need more info, you can check out our options at www.colocationamerica.com/colocation or just reach out to me here. 🙂

@ChrisL Do you offer per U pricing anywhere other than LA?

@JaredBusch Depends on available space in our NY/NJ DC's. All others are half-rack minimum.

Exactly where? LA is a pretty huge place!

Did you sign up with CoreSite direct or one of their resellers?
                        How much space?

Coresite direct, we already are their clients (NY DC).
                          1 rack for now.

@Kris_K From the fwy offramp to the LA2 site, is less than a mile drive.
