Same here. I took my old iPhone 4s and turned it into a cordless phone. It's been running for several days now without logging off.

I prefer ZoIPer over Linphone.

Also, ZoIPer has an OMG drain my battery mode that keeps connections alive if you want to turn it on.
It is not on by default. -

Are there any specific options/settings that you set on the FreePBX extension for softphone extensions?

It is not on by default.Yes it does. Which isn't bad for my phone in this case since I have the Otterbox iON case

hit settings -> incoming calls.
turn these on.

@JaredBusch That's interesting. LinPhone "allows" incoming calls to ring if the app is in the background, if TCP transport is used.
This looks like you still use UDP, but they use some other method for keeping the connection alive.

You do not want TCP for voice. It makes the calls worse as soon as there is any little hiccup requiring retransmits.

Why do you want to transfer a call? Are you wanting a full featured softphone to replace a desk phone? Then pay for one. Software development is not cheap you know.

I've been on Linphone both on Ubuntu and iOS and it's been good.

Agreed. From what I was reading, it looks like LinPhone only uses TCP for the connection only, not the RTP stream.

Yes, a full featured deskphone replacement. I would have every intension of paying for one, especially at $5. I was just making a comment that the free version was limited. I typically don't pay for one unless I test it first.

So this is similar to my experience. It works fine for me on my IOS device, but not for a co-worker on an IOS device. The Asterisk console pukes out all those errors in the OP whenever he is connected.
An extension is an extension. What would even be contemplated here as a difference?
Specifically, I was questioning if there are any settings that would help with connection stability for extensions on Cell phones.

Yep, agreed. So far, call quality is fine for me. And like I said, I don't really care about price, especially for 5 bucks.
BTW, as an alternative desktop app, I've found that Jitsi has been great as well.
