So I'm working with an Elastix system for a client, who uses only Polycom phones, and I've run into an issue, where everything works perfectly, except that I cannot edit any of the configurable buttons, or get the phone's built-in VoiceMail button to actually function at all, nor have it integrate with the PBX's VoiceMail system, AKA, The MWI feature isn't working at all. I can't get into these phones from the backend as most of the guides I've found for this process call for, and I can't just edit it's config through SSH or anything similar.

Anyone run into this problem before, or have any advice for me? It's just a blinky light, but the client refuses to acknowledge that they can use the VoiceMail a separate way, and have it work just fine.

What is causing the SSH configuration to not work?

Is the phone provisioned via a provisioning server via config files? (Do the phones ever reach out to check for a new config?)

@scottalanmiller I can't SSH into them, the connection is refused.
@fuznutz04 No, they were set up individually, manually. Not by me, either, for the record.

Okay, so the real issue here is that we don't yet have access to the phones. That should be the place to start. Get one and do a full reset, see if SSH starts working. Maybe someone has disabled it or it has crashed.

Basically all of the "it can't be configured" is red herring here. The base issue is that access to the phones has not yet been obtained.

This is the "can't drive to the store" problem where someone says "there is something wrong with the car" and what they mean is "the garage door is still closed." It's true that the car can't drive anywhere, but there is nothing wrong with the car. There is nothing wrong with the configuration here, we haven't gotten to that point yet.

Why are you trying to use SSH? That is not normal. Phones are normally HTTP accessed.

Even for these features on these specific phones? I have no idea, I've not used them, I'm just going by his statement that what he needs to do said that he needed SSH access.

Do you, @Mike-Ralston at least have the HTTP interface of the phones available to you?

Right, the web interface on these devices have a lot of options that you can set, especially if you upgrade to the latest firmware, which can also be updated straight from Polycom servers, right from the web interface.

He does have HTTP access and has updated the firmware (I do know he has done some other things as well but can't speak to those).

Are the options missing in the web interface, inaccessible or not working? More details would help a lot.

@scottalanmiller Those options are in the web interface, but not accessible, they're greyed out.

Might be a dumb question, but are you logged in as a user or admin? Default password for an admin is 456
