Taking from a previous post I made about a certain piece of equipment, I've just learned that the equipment must run Windows 7... because of course it does for legacy hardware.

XP + serial ports... luckily it didn't fall to me to try to convince it to work on something newer, but still. one of the other guys was trying to get virtualized XP to talk nice to the gear with serial pass-through from vbox and couldn't convince things to play ball

oh yeah... I just love those....
But hey.. I pass it along to management - who SHOULD know the salary difference between us and how simple it is to change out a toner... but, beyond that I just swap them...
I probably spend 50% or more of my day being bench....

It's a mentality I would like to drive in.... but It was a process I knew about coming in - easy wins on the ticket count that certain others just didn't seem to care about. They'd ignore them routinely and part of the End User Frustration Factor (EUFF - is not a real term...) that I am working on reversing.
This a case of; Unknown printer of same model needed toner, but no known location. Checked printer, ok on toner, oh - here's the one that DOES need toner. Now the one that was fine is reporting it needs it... (eyeroll). And of course - IT URGENT!! Ugh,.. Print on the one down the hall,.. it's only 30-45 feet away.....

OMG - I didn't notice when reading this on my cell phone, who it was... he's still around? Jeez I know I can be obtuse and all,... but if I was such a Curtis I'd have had my account locked and left the scene....

Yeah, he's never stopped there and they just keep letting him go. It's nuts. He was reported so many times for abuse, lying, intentionally trying to get people to harm themselves, fake news... but always allowed to remain.

System sold with an S100i, but we're using the motherboard to do "hardware raid"... um what...
It's software raid through the motherboard, which is fakeraid.
If the board has any issues, the array is toast....

Yup - seems perfectly normal... OmFG!Meaning - lets not remove disabled users from groups and just leave them 'laying' around ADUC
