Oh YES!! A credit Card is needed for a hold but you do not pay until you arrive and you have 48 hours before your reservation to cancel if needed.

I am not comfortable in handing over CC details over the phone! Is this how it was done last year too?

Yes that is pretty much how you do all transactions in the US for hotels if you call them. I have never had an issue doing it (and do it many many times a year).

Yes we reach JFK on 23rd, and planning to stay there for a day maybe or just leave for ROC, stay there till 29th for Mcon and visit places too.
Then on 30th to NY and stay there till 5th and 6th back to Dubai

I just need to figure out some activities for my wife when i attend Mcon. Hope we figure out somethng, that is easy accessible for her without the car

The strong Museum of Play is very close (there are lots of things to see and do there not just for kids.

There are cabs here as well that she can take to do other things. As well as I am sure one of my helpers might be willing to well help

Assuming we it done on time, there will be CD and USB drive copies of State of Unrest's new EP available at MC 2017... Ask nicely and you'll probably get one for free. And stickers, lots of stickers.
Edit: we will also have vinyls, but I won't have them on hand. Shipping can be arranged for any interested parties.

Just confirmed the Japan timeline for this year and it is over prior to MC17, so I will be making it for certain.
@Minion-Queen it is time to figure out if we are going to do some true multi hour deep dives or not this year.

Yeah. I can improve on what I did last year, but to really get into a full software storage stack would take quite a while to go over the concepts and actual examples.
Possibly expand on the short security portion as well.
